Adeline’s point of view I was excited, it’s my 18th birthday. I’m officially old enough to find my mate. The Blue moon pack was invited because they are the closest to our pack I smiled as I looked me and Clair over, my best friend. I was wearing a purple dress and she was wearing a blue one. They went to our knees My mom came in “Oh my gosh, Shadow, you look so beautiful” I smiled as she hugged me “Thanks mom” “I wish you the best of luck darling, hopefully you can find your mate tonight” my father said I smiled. “Where’s James?” I asked He was my boy best friend and also Clairs mate “He’s with his family dear, we’ll go get him” They left, Clair hugged me. “No matter how far apart we are we’ll always be best friends, I got you something for your birthday” She pulled out half of a heart that’s supposed to say best friend. Liams mom came over to me “I’m Olivia, his mother, I’m glad my son found his other half” Liam kissed my head as I blushed. Clair and James came in “Both packs are starting to get kept up” James said. We went in there I went to the mike “Sorry everyone, something happened outside, I’m sorry to say that I have found my mate, but you guys can still dance with me” An hour later I was dancing with some guy. I was slowing losing my mind. “We have to find her” “What about the guests” Clair asked I went up to the stage. “My pack will go back home, my mom will look after you, James, anything for your pack” James took over for me. He covered the mike “Check the training area, Clair will take you, protect my mate” I nodded. Clair grabbed my hand and took me outside to the second big building. Julian was in his wolf form following us. We went in and that was where they were. A guy from my pack had a g*n pointed to her ribs, her pretty face was covered with mascara because she was crying. She had a tie around her mouth “I’ve been waiting for alpha” He said. “What do you want” I growled “To be alpha” I laughed. “You don’t have what it takes, give me my mate” He put the g*n to her head and she screamed. “I was going to be mean and let her live, but now your going to dye” There was a g*n shot and he fell to the ground. Blood was all over my mate who was shaking. We all turned to see James with the g*n in his hand. Clair took the g*n from him “Where’s the alpha and Luna?” “Right here” they both said I went to my mate I didn’t care about anyone else but her. I took the tie off. We kissed. “Are you hurt?” She shook her head. I will protect her and I promised myself that nothing like this will happen to her ever again
