"I Jackson Collins, of the Moon Claw pack, reject you, Syria Millo, of the Moon Claw Pack." My heart felt like it had been ripped out of my chest. I stood there stunned, trying to catch my breath. "No, I can't accept!" "I've met someone, Syria, and I want to marry them. It's over between us," Jackson says. I stepped back as I'm finding it hard to breathe. Syria Millo was born different-her demon wolf made her an outcast, her mate's rejection left her broken, and her sister is the only family who stands by her. But when she's kidnapped by hunters and given to the Alpha King, she finds herself caught between fear and fascination. The beast who should have killed her hesitates, and in his flaming red eyes she sees not just a monster but a wolf as cursed and lonely as she is.

Limitless
Chapter 1 Limitless POV Syria “I, Jackson Collins, of the Moon Claw pack, reject you, Syria Millo, of the Moon Claw Pack.” My heart pounded. My world spun. I grabbed onto the doorframe for support. I was beyond stunned, trying to catch my breath. “No, I can’t accept!” “I’ve met someone, Syria, and I want to marry her. It’s over between us,” Jackson says. I stepped back, finding it increasingly hard to breathe. My wolf howls in my head; sharing my pain. “You're my mate, don’t I get a say? You just show up randomly at my front door and spew out my rejection without giving me fair warning?” I clutch my chest and try to steady my breathing. “It’s not like that.” He says. “Then what is it like?” I yell. “You want the honest truth.” He raises his brow and tightens his fists. “Yes.” He narrows his eyes. “I’m ashamed to be around you. Your wolf killed your own mother. You prefer the company of humans over your own kind. f**k Syria, I can’t even take you out in public without other wolves trying to rip you apart because of your demon wolf,” he growls. “All things you knew when you kissed me for the first time and said you loved me.” I pout. “I’ve never really loved you. I’ve only ever pitied you. The day I found out you were my mate was the worst day of my life. My dad forced me to work it out. I love Aspen; we’re getting married in a month with or without your acceptance.” “I accept your stupid f*****g rejection.” I growl and slam the door in his face. “You’ll regret this one day!” I yell at the door, but more to myself. I knew about Aspen. I cried about her for days. A part of me hoped he would still choose me. I sat beside my sister, Enya, on the sofa and zoned out watching Netflix. While tears streamed down my face. “Don’t worry, big sis; you’ll find another monster like your wolf to love you.” She puts her arm around me and leans into me. *********** A week later, I’m at the Red Wolf club. The music pounds in my head, putting me in a trance. I’ve drunk my weight in alcohol and stumble onto the dance floor to dance the night away with my humans, Keith and Ashley. As a female demon wolf, being out in public is dangerous for me. I just can’t stand being at home, trapped in my thoughts. My phone rings, and I run to the bathroom to answer it “Hi Syria, I forgot to ask for my ring back. Aspen wants it. Maybe you can get your dad to drop it off?” Jackson says. “Go to Hell Jackson.” I hang up. The ring still sparkles on my finger, and I’m not ready to let it go. I turn towards the mirror, and my eyes are blood red the eyes of my demon wolf. “This is your fault!” I yell at my wolf in the mirror. “I can’t have a life because of you! I hate you!” Tears fall down my face, and before I can stop myself, I punch the mirror, smashing it into tiny pieces. Blood oozes from my knuckles. My wolf howls in my head. “Hey b***h, some of us need to use that mirror to fix our makeup? What the hell?” A random girl screams. I turn to them, and they see my blood red eyes and run. My emotions mixed with alcohol overwhelm me, and I push my way through the crowd until I'm outside standing in the cold rain without my jacket. I leaned against the wall for support as tears still flowed down my face. I loved him. I wanted him to be mine. I shivered from the freezing rain that kisses every inch of my skin. A limo drives up to me, and the window rolls down. A silver wolf with black eyes looks me up and down. The smell of expense cigars fills my nostrils. “Sy.” Keith and Ashley come running out. “Let’s go for coffee and talk.” Ashley says. We head to a late night restaurant, and I try to drink my weight in coffee. It doesn’t have the same effect as alcohol. “Sy, Jackson was an asshole who treated you poorly.” Ashley says. “He was an asshole that I loved dearly, and that doesn’t go away overnight.” Ashley puts her hand on mine. “I understand that you're hurting. I’m worried about you. The alpha king’s hunters are searching for girls your age. Please stay at home; I need you to be safe.” I sigh and suck back the tears. “Can you take me home?” I ask. “Only if you promise to stay safe.” Ashley pleads. “I promise.” Another promise I know I can’t keep. “Okay, let’s get you home.” ****** I hear pounding on my bedroom door. “You said you would bring me home a slushy.” “A slushy is no good for you, Enya.” I yell. “You promised! You always break your promises! I hate you!” She pounds relentlessly on my door for what feels like hours until I give in. I hate being here. I need to get out of here. I walk past her to my jeep and drive around looking for anything left open that sells slushes. Everything seems closed. I finally find a gas station on the outskirts of town that has a slushy sign. I feel my wolfs ears perk up the minute I walk into the gas station. I get her favorite flavors, purple and red crush. I put the slushy on the counter to pay for it and searched through my purse for my wallet. I notice the clerk shifting back and forth, looking nervous. “I’m really sorry, miss, but you shouldn’t have come here so late at night.” The clerk says. “My little sister wanted a slushy.” I bark. “You still shouldn’t have come. I’m really sorry, miss.” The clerk refuses to take my money. I try to leave, but the door is locked and I can’t unlock it. When I turn around, the clerk is gone. What the hell is going on? I hear footsteps and arguing at the back of the store Strong wolf's hands grab me from behind as I struggle to fight against him. “You're mine now.” Says a voice. “I’ve been looking for you for a long time, Syria.” I smell a strong scent of expensive cigars. Is this the guy from the limo? How does he know my name? Nobody knows who I am. “Who are you?” I ask. “Just call me Mr Death.” He laughs. He drags me out of the back of the store as I thrash and try to fight him off. He puts a cloth over my mouth, and then I descend into darkness.
