As soon as Galen had satisfied himself with Hope, he gave me back control, and retreated to the back of my mind, probably for a snooze to catch up on the sleep he'd missed from the night he'd spent with Maya. He was extremely pleased with himself and I envied him for that. Our wolf counterparts have buckets of confidence. Galen was positively swaggering.
"Well, that was certainly an interesting start to the day" I said to Hope. She was lying in my arms with a huge smile on her face. It looked like her birthday and Christmas had come all at once.
