CHAPTER 35

— Isaac —

I buried myself at work the whole day, revising some contracts, signing and reviewing business agreements. I even ate late lunch and called Anika just once due to rushing of things before I left going to America tomorrow.

“Make sure everything is on due date before I leave.” I said to my secretary before I left the building.

Since I’m done with my office work, time for me to work at home. I still have a lot of papers to assort and review on my office at home. I check my watch while driving and it’s 15 minutes before 4. Anika is still at the hospital. I sent her a message telling her I’ll be going home.

I made sure she doesn’t know that I’m meeting her parents tomorrow, and in order for this to happen things should fall according to my plan.

After 10 minutes travel I arrived home and headed directly to my office. I told everyone not to disturb me because I only have an hour before Anika arrives. I don’t want working while she’s here, I want to give my full attention to her when she arrives.

I don’t know how long I was at the office, but I was disturbed by a knock on the door. Good thing I’m almost done.

“Come in” I said in a irritating tone not looking at the door.

“Did I disturbed you?” A sweet voice filled the room as Anika open the door and sneak.

“Of course not love.” I said smiling at her, looking at her takes my tiredness away.

“Do you need anything?” I said while she sits on the chair in front of me.

“Yes.. Actually I just want to ask permission because Mr. Tan will send me to a convention at America tomorrow. I wanted to come because I really love joining gatherings like this and this is one in a million opportunity.” She said like a kid trying to convince her parents to let her attend a party.

“Why would I let you?” I said playing hard to convince.

“Because you said you love me and you will do everything to make me happy and this one makes me happy.” She said hesitant to her answer.

“Do you really need to come deep down on that question.” I said raising a brow, this woman is using my love for her against me.

She suddenly stands and sit on the arm of the chairs pleading.

“I’m sorry I just want to attend that convention.” She explained using her puppy eyes pleading.

“Sure in a condition” I said that makes her frown.

“You’ll be using one of my plane and the three good guys are coming with you.” I said grinning at her.

“Deal!” She finally said that makes me smile.

There is a pinch in my heart knowing I’m lying to my woman.

I finish the last document on my table and we eat dinner at the balcony. I don’t want to bother the boys because they’re also busy rushing for tomorrow.

After a quick dinner, Anika got busy packing her stuffs for the convention while a meet Jake on the office since he will be in charge while I’m away for 2 nights.

We sleep early because Anika will take the early flight. Happiness and excitement plastered all over her face. The nights and day went smoothly as planned. I drive Anika to the airport, giving her some reminders. This is the first time Anika will be away for an hour. I made sure they check the parameters and we went there.

After a couple or three hours, I also took the plane going to America. Blake always sends his update on me but still I don’t have the satisfaction of being calm, I will only be at ease when Anika is right on my side, on my arms where she belongs.

After another 10 hours on the damn plane we are finally at America. I headed to my penthouse to take a quick bath and change. I have to composed myself first before going to Scoot residence. I took me an hour to do those.

The car is now about to enter Scoot’s residence gate. I am welcomed by Alfred as I climbed our of my car.

“What brings you here might be for a very important reason.” He looks tired and older than before.

“Is this about Anika?” He added. I just stood there buttoning mg coat.

“Let’s go to my office first. What I’m about to tell can knock you out.” He said while we walk inside his house.

“I’ve been through a lot, trust me I can manage everything.” I shrugs with confidence.
