CHAPTER 33

I started to feel shaking, anxiety attacks me and last thing I know I was already crying. Crying for I don’t know what reason, I don’t know if I’m crying because I don’t know what to do or because I’m starting to fear Isaac, but why? I asked myself. He gave me a new life that I never imagine I can have, why am I entertaining this thoughts in the first place? I said standing and walking around the room. I sit on my vanity mirror and look at myself. Why do you question the only person who gives you the world? Who will protect you will all his life? Willing to die to make you safe? Who takes you out of your shelter? I asked myself. But one thing is for sure. I’m starting to doubt him because he’s hiding something from me. I don’t also want to doubt him but he gave me a room to do that. I have to think of something to close that room.

I walked into my bed and lay down looking at the promise ring he gave me.

“Are you really a promise ring? Or a ring given to hide something from me.” Sleep suddenly visits me might be because of tiredness.

“Wake up Love” I heard Isaac voice rubbing my back.

“Hi sleepy head! You must be so tired to nap.” He smiled at me, I finally saw the face of the person whom I fight for against myself.

“Dinner is ready.” He added, I just look at him in the eyes and speak nothing.

I just sit and hug him tight, I want his warmth body near me which gives my nerves calmness it deserves.

“Is everything alright Anika?” He asked which I hug him ever tighter.

“I just missed you today.” I finally said. He return my hugs into kisses on my head

“I know you’re tired because you’re running in my mind all day long.” He said, he is really good at changing topics and making the atmosphere light.

I just chuckle at him, he help me stand on the bed I just wore my Christian Dior slip ons going outside for dinner.

“How have you been today? I heard you’ve done heart transplant today.” He asked while he holds my hands going downstairs for dinner .

“Yes, it feels so good to finally be back at the hospital.” I said trying myself to look happy.

“Is the work that makes you feel good or your co-worker?” He said emphasizing the last word which makes me confuse.

“I heard Stephen is talking to you on purpose.” He added that make me roll my eyes.

“Of course we are talking on purpose, we are professional’s. We must talked with purpose.” I said while sitting on the chair. Albert pulls the chair for me.   

The rest of his guys are already seated on the chairs. 

“I don’t want any guys talking to you.” He said acting like a child.

“I’m the best doctor they have of course everybody wants to talk to me and ask for advices.” I said confidently folding my hands over my chest.

“Besides, Stephen will be the be owner of that hospital so he really needs to learn a lot.” I said shrugging.

Isaac sigh in disbelief and rubs his temple to calm himself.

“No monkey business or else I’ll be the one to operate that asshole.” He said more like a threat.

“Hey! You kiss me with that mouth?” I said to finally lighten up the atmosphere because it's becoming suffocating.

I heard the boys chuckle and they just receives death glares from Isaac. When it comes to boys coming near me, Isaac is really being unreasonable.

“Excuse me mr. Isaac the dinner is ready.” Albert announces and that makes us all busy with our food. I just ate salad since I don’t have enough time to do work out so I’ll just lessen the food I eat beside I don't have good appetite today because of the call.

I look at Isaac who was all over his food with his famous blank expression which makes everyone think of what was running on his mind.

“Are you going to eat that salad or you preferred to eat me? ” He suddenly said which makes me bring back to reality.

“What?” The only word left my tongue.

“I notice you staring at me for more than a ten god damn minutes and I can’t concentrate eating knowing you we’re looking at me like that.” He said in annoyance.

Everyone chuckles and look at me. I just forced a smile and take a deep breath before I speak. I know after I say what’s on my mind Isaac's mood will change . 

“I want to know my biological family.” I honestly don't know where that came from. I wanted to slap my face at that moment but meeting at the gaze of Isaac, I suddenly felt lost.

Everyone on the table suddenly became silent and stare at me.
