First date

Chapter 10

--Anika—

“Ugghh” I woke up with the sound of the alarm beside my bed. I press it and started to do some stretching before going to the bathroom. Before I walk inside the bathroom, I turn on the speaker and play songs from Dua Lipa. I turn on the water on the bathtub and put a pink bomb soap, as soon as the water level is enough I take off my clothes and sink myself at the bathtub, the water is so relaxing, it gives calmness to my nerves. When I’m done with scrubbing everything that needs to be scrub, I stand and went to the shower. When I’m done I take the bathrobe and wrap the towel on my dripping long hair. I walk out of the bathroom and sit on the couch in front of my vanity mirror. This is what I loved with this room, I put on lotion and starting drying my hair, when I’m done with my hair I started with coloring my face with a light primer, I just want to put light makeup because I don’t want to cover the skin tone of my face, just highlighted my eyes and put dark eye shadows, I fix my hair into a messy bun and let some of it fall into my face.

“Your time is up, I’ll tell you why” I sing along with the music banging inside my room, before I applied a nude color matte lipstick and makes sure it’s smudge proof, just in case you know, things get silly.

“Anika” I scolded myself as I entertained those thoughts.

I get up and walk towards the bed and hold the dress I’m about to wear. It’s a gold silk fitted dress and it’s a damn sexy dress because its back was open, yes, it’s a backless one, because I was triggered by his cold treatment this afternoon when we got home, so trying to show off.  

“We’ll boy I don’t give a f**k” I’m singing along with the song and will start to walk when “s**t” I shouted when I saw Casper watching me while looking at the dress

“You scared the hell out of me” Yelling at him

“Don’t worry, you’re still beautiful even when you’re startled” His smiling at me that makes him looks creepy knowing his watching me beyond my knowledge for the past 10 months.

“Don’t you know how to knock” I turn my back at him and walk to the speaker to turn off the music

“I did, I knocked more than five times but because your music is banging here you can’t hear me, by the way boss send me here to make sure you’ll be ready before 7” He said and then walks his way out of the room.

“Crap” I muttered when he left the room. I don’t really trust that guy, I don’t know why but my instincts tells me not to be relaxed when his around. I will know soon, but for now I have to get ready before the beast outside come here and reap the flesh out of me.

I walk to the closet in front of the mirror and take off my robe and dump it at the basket. I carefully put on my dress for me not to ruin my hair, it fits my body well, revealing the back of my skin. I don’t know if I’m narcissist but I really look damn goddess with this dress. It’s been a long time since I invested like this in myself. I cannot let this pass so I grab my phone at took a mirror photo, after a lot of clicking  here and there, I finally stop and look for an accessory which matches this dress. I choose a ruby gold pair of earrings and with ear cuff to and a heart shape ruby necklace. I wear also the gold Louie Vuitton watch that we bought a while ago. I spray a sweet scent of perfume from Victoria’s secret and when I’m finally done, I walk to the closet and get a nude ankle strap rounded open toe stiletto pair of  heels. I check myself at the mirror for the last time before I go downstairs, and when I’m satisfied I walk out of my room.

I headed straight downstairs and see everyone around chatting except for Isaac, I can’t find him. Silence suddenly rules the place when they saw me walking down the stairs. I felt splendid seeing their eyes looking at me full of admiration. Isaac now comes out of nowhere smiling at me genuinely. He looks so sharp in his black suit. We might be going to attend a special party.

“You look like a goddess my Anika” He said then offers his right hand

“Thank you” I felt my cheeks heated hearing those words.

A man holding a camera walk after us and led us to a couch where the Mediterranean Sea becomes our back ground. I look at Isaac with confusion, wanting him to explain what I supposed to do but he just gives me a smile.

“I don’t want this time to just pass not capturing the best moments for us” He said and then gesture me to seat on the couch.

I sat on the couch and the cameraman started taking photos of us. I look at Isaac and I see genuine smiles that came from his soul. I don’t know why but my heart melts just being with the presence of this man. He might felt that I’m looking at him so he looked at me and pat me a kissed on my head. It gives shiver on my spines and my heart beats fast. I look at the camera and let out a smile that I never wore before. 

Casper and Jake are still watching us like looking so unbelievable in the situation, like they just saw a sweet side of Isaac’s, but with Casper I saw a different thing, soon I will know what this man is hiding. Throwing that thought in the back of my mind, I think of something else, I hold the hand of Isaac that makes him look at me.

“Let’s include the guys” Smiling widely at him

“What? No, this is our moment” He said in refusal

“They’re part of your family” I said and without waiting for his response I called the guys and even if they’re not that ready they joined us with excitement.

Isaac pulls me closer to him, like our body was already glued at each other while the guys are standing around us. I look at them happily, while Isaac was shaking his head. It’s been a lot of shots before Isaac finally said enough in irritation. We all stand and Isaac escorted me out of the mansion to the garden area.

"Where are we going? Are we going to attend a party" I asked while walking

"We are not going anywhere my love" He said and gestured me the most romantic place I have ever seen.

I was so amazed with the scene, there was a table of two covered by a canopy in the middle of the garden, the area was lighted by the candle lights on the floor and lamp lights on the table, around the floor was full red roses petals, there are also candle light and petals on the floor going towards the table. I stop before walking into the petals and look at Isaac, my expression says it all. He holds my hands as we walk slowly together at the table, he moves the chair for me to sit comfortably. The sound of the Mediterranean Sea serves as our music and the full moon witness how this night will become memorable to me.

“Who did this?” I ask still amused while looking at the place

“It’s my idea, and this one is for you” While handling me a bouquet of yellow tulips.

I’m still speechless, I don’t know what to do say and act on this kind of treatment, all my life I lived on my own, it’s my first time someone treated me so special and I can’t contain my feelings.

“It’s seems like it will not be hard for me to make you fall of in love with me” He said teasing me.

“Excuse me?” My amusement turn to annoyance, I forget to brace myself not to fall in love with this pervert. So I changed my facial expression and breath to compose myself not to let him see I liked, actually liking was not the right term, but loving his surprises.

“I told you to be humble first” Annoyance rest on my face

“That annoyance doesn’t suit this beautiful place, the beautiful night and your beautiful face” He said looking straight seriously in my eyes.

“Why are you doing these?” I don’t know where that question came from but I think I just wanted to clarify things once and for all, and there I heard the answer I never expected, the answer that will make me sleep softly at night.

Before he answered me, he snap of his hand and a waiter come to us, and give a glass of Château Cheval Blanc of champagne. He offered me a toast in  which I give also in favor but deep inside I’m patiently waiting for the answer to the question banging into my mind since he bought me from my said to be father.

He look at me without a blink and started explaining “Do you remember a year ago? you saved someone from a car accident, before that car accident, that person encountered an ambushed planned by the American Mafia who has a huge grudge on him, that day he thought it was the last day of his life into this world, but a woman came and help her in that misery, he was glad a doctor came to revived him from breathing, that doctor never stopped until there was air, when that man open his eyes he saw the most beautiful face he could ever saw, the smile he wanted to see every day when he wakes up and hold her hands everywhere they go. From then on, he promised himself that woman will be the person he wanted to be with for the rest of his life. After the recovery from the accident the man search for the woman who saved and fortunately that woman was easy to find because he was the famous young doctor in the America” When I heard that, things are getting familiar, I wanted to ask but I let him explain more and continue talking because I know he still have something to say.

“He made his way to be near and get her girl, so he planned everything accordingly and because he wanted that girl so much, he finally got the girl home where they can start a new chapters in their lives” He said emotionless

“So what is my connection to the girl who saved the life of the man to my –“ I stop when I remember before I go the hospital a year ago for the board meeting I encountered an accident and saved a man’s life.

“You” Almost an utter, now things become clearer to me. 

“Yes! My Anika, I was the man you saved from a car accident a year ago, I hope you found the reason why you’ll be my wife” He said and then lean on the chair.

“Florence Nightingale effect” He said pointing at him

“What? Are you drunk Anika?” He said almost laughing at me

“No, you just loved me because I saved your life” I said explaining what is Florence Nightingale means.

“You just loved me because of what I’ve done to you, because I saved your –“

“What the crap are you thinking? I loved you because I love you and not because of that Florence bullshit thing you’re talking about” He reach for my hands and hold it.

“Please let’s not ruin the night, I’m asking for a hundred days to give me chance to show my love for you and a chance you give yourself to love me, i will do everything to be deserving for you” He pressed my hands and kiss it gently.

I nodded and give him a forced smile. I don’t know where it came from, but there are thoughts in my mind saying that his love will not last because it was just a Florence effect, but in my heart I’m silently hoping it’s not because I don’t need a hundred days to love this person, the moment he said he loved me, there's a part of me already wanting him. Before I let him know my feelings for him I need to make sure first.

“And what if those hundred days doesn’t work? I said teasing him just to remove those thoughts in my mind for the meantime.

“Hey! I’ll make sure it will work” He said raising a brow that makes me chuckle.

“We should eat dinner before you might think of other things to annoy me” He said while snapping his hands.

A man wearing a chef uniform come near us to serve us our food, after placing the plate on our table, he also served the champagne soak in a jar of ice and left us.

It was a lot of talking and exchanging of thoughts, laughter’s , knowing each other, his parents, I even learned that he became the Mafia boss at a young age because his father was snipe together with his mother that forced him to lived in a pack of wolves guys.

“The bottle of champagne is empty” He said raising the bottle

“Aw! It was already 12 in the midnight" Looking at my watch

Isaac stands without any words and offer his hands

“Can we dance” Maybe because of the champagne in my body, without any hesitation I gave my hands and stand.

He get my two hands and kissed them gently while looking at me, he place my left hands on his shoulders and holds my right hands, while his left hands holds my waist where he can push my body into his. I rest my head into his chest where I can clearly hear his heartbeat.

“You are nervous” I said while my eyes are now close

“You make me nervous my Anika, you make me do things I don’t usually do and because of that I love you even more” I felt him kissed my head.

We were swaying gently without music, the sound of the wave of the sea is enough for us to move our bodies.

“These are the soft hands I always wanted to touch, your face I always wanted to see every morning when I wake up, your smell I always wanted to sniff that gives me calmness, the only woman I wanted to be with for the rest of my life, you are crazy beautiful”

“I love you My Anika” Isaac said, witnessed by the moon above us and the sea beside us.
