She stared in the full-length mirror at her image in the long white dress. It wasn’t fancy. It was simple, but for the first time in her life, she felt beautiful, not the rough and tough Billy Jo. Her brown hair was loose with sprigs of baby’s breath, and in the sandals on her feet, she could walk a step or two.
