The drive to Luca’s mother’s house is quiet and comfortable. Subtle pop plays in the car and Luca, Adriano and Emeliana make small conversation every once in a while but it’s not enough to make the nervousness Emeliana is feeling going away. She has no idea how their mother and sister are going to act when she meets Emeliana, and the feeling of uncertainty causes her thoughts to stir out of her control.
