Fourteen-Couples bickering

1035 Words
Work? This late at night, he was no fool and the nerve of her talking to him in such manner. He can't help but feel intimidated by her audacity, no woman has spoken to him in such a manner. He wants to put her in her place, he needs to. He watched as she continues to glare at him, expecting him to open the door but he ignores that stare of her and walks back to the stair. A bewildered expression taking form on her face. "Wait, where are you going to? I need to go to work. Don't you believe me? My shift would start soon."Despite her little talk he kept on walking, ignoring her. He could feel her getting agitated. "Nicholas, I need you to listen to me. I have patients to care for, I am needed at the hospital, I might lose my job." Noticing her wasn't paying heed to her, Gabriela felt a surge of anger boiling in her, how can he be so insensitive to what she's saying? Can't he hear, or is he merely pretending? She jogs up the stairs, wanting to catch up with him, she runs harder her pads on the steps hard and loud enough to wake the whole household from sleep. Facing him she stops him from moving any further, noticing her proximity was a bit too much, she moves backwards her action earning a brow raise from him. "What are you doing?" He asks, too relaxed for her liking. "Please open the door," She pleads. "Now, we are begging." His mocking tone adding to her misery. "I explained my side to you, can you open the door now? I seriously need to leave, and I hardly know my way around this environment. That alone might take me time to figure out." "You don't give me orders in my house." "I wasn't," she retorted. "You don't insult me," he says once more. "When did I...?" He interrupted. "I don't need your say in this issue, Gabriela." "You are being unreasonable, childish about this." He was more annoying than she thought, his ego blinding his reasoning. "It is quite late, and I am going to sleep, I suggest you do the same." He loves how angry, she looks now. Her face all scrunched up in annoyance, the glint in her eyes were fiery though he could see the flame in them. A part of him wanted to do as she request, but his real self just can't change for her, she sounded like a pesky little girl, insulted him in his house. He can't be moved by her assertive pleas, that mocked him, and his authority. He just needs to show her place and where she stands. Right there, under him. "I am not leaving till you do as I request," she dared. He loves her challenging nature, for someone he once underestimated he didn't expect this type of her to pop out. So fiery, he won't deny she intrigued him, like a new accessory of his, he wanted to know about her more, wanted her to blow like a fuse, the sight alone might have her rip him in pieces but he won't care. His new fiery wife. "Be my guest, I won't mind some company to warm my bed." The look of surprise, on her face, was amusing, she steps back for a while, rethinking her whole strategy. He decided to forward it more, "Are you scared my dear wife? or you don't want to come with me anymore?" She took a deep breath trying to flush out any embarrassment she felt now. My dear wife. It sounded so weird in her ears, a reminder that she is married, even though she doesn't feel that way. Try another way Gabriela, don't fall into his trap. "Nicholas, I do beg you please, I need to go, I am late." The look of satisfaction glowing on his face was a call of defeat for her. Just swallow your pride Gabriela, it would pass soon. "Apologize," he demanded his tone very serious. "What?" She blurted his expression remained indifferent. Apologize, he would let you go. She took in another deep breath, this would be hard. "I am sorry." For what? She hardly knows. He smiled walking away from her, shocking her once. She just apologized. "I apologized." "So?" "I expected you to open the door for me." A mild laughter was heard, "You do have a very wild imagination." Breathe Gabriela, try to calm herself from how frustrated he made hee. She would find another alternative, not through him. Nicholas found it weird he wasn't hearing the retort of his wife, maybe she was dumbfounded by his response or simply gave up. Has to be one of the two. Curiosity had the better of him and he turned back surprised to see her gone. He looked downstairs and she wasn't there anymore. She just disappeared, strange. He went down and yet no sight of her, hearing some rustling in the bushes at the back of his kitchen, he went towards the source of the noise and is surprised to see the kitchen window raised to an angle, open. She snuck out. He was amused, bewildered at her action. His new, wild fiery wife, he thought. He peeked through the open window, the headlights of her car blinded him for a moment there, her engine humming in the night. It was late, he could bet a million she hardly knows her way around here, since she is so stubborn and the level she would go to prove her point, he has to do something. With a quick dial, Kelvin came running to him, "Yes boss."His thick low voice announced his presence. "My wife claimed she is going to work, follow her to ensure she gets there safe and don't miss her way. " "Yes." He affirms excusing himself. My wife, he used that a lot in one day of being married. About caring for her? He is just ensuring the last minute warning Mr Vincent gave him doesn't come to the light of the day. The only thing he cares about is his head staying on his neck.
