Chapter 1
It was a beautiful day in the territory where a pup was born. The lands belong to the strongest pack in the Americas. Her name was Ivy, the only daughter born to Alpha Alaric and Luna Serenity. A rare beauty indeed. Ivy was born with crystal blue eyes and snow white hair. Her skin was picture perfect, light freckles decorating her soft cheek bones. Her lips a shade of pink that seemed to glitter in the right lighting. She was the apple of her parents eyes. Her pack surrounded the pack house in celebration on this day, her arrival was long awaited as her parents tried for many years to conceive. "She will grow to achieve many victories and be extremely important to this pack" Elder Franklin whispered softly as he gazed down at Ivy's sleeping form tucked protectively against Serenity's chest. On Ivy's fifth birthday, she sat awake in her bed vibrating with excitement. She didn't know why she was excited, she just knew something amazing was going to happen. Her mother gently knocked on the door to her bedroom just as the soft morning rays brighted the pastel pink and greens of the room, "Ivy, my sweet princess, are you awake?" Serenity asked as she opened the door. "Hi mama!" Ivy squealed as she launched herself off the bed and into her mother's arms. Ivy was caught in the loving embrace of her mother as Serenity spun them around in a circle. "Happy birthday my baby. Is there anything special you'd like for breakfast?" Serenity spoke as she set Ivy down. Ivy tilted her head a bit as she thought about her mother's question. "Hmm" was her response as she made an adorable thinking face. "Oh!! Blueberry pancakes with strawberries on top" Ivy beemed with pure happiness. Her mother's eyes glazed over in a milky white colour as she mind linked with the packs head kitchen Omega Helen. "Right away Luna. Blueberry pancakes with strawberries will be served" Helen responded back. Luna Serenity smiled brightly as she walked over to Ivy's closet to pick out her outfit for the day. "Would you like to help me pick something out for you to wear?" Serenity asked as she turned her head to glance at her daughter who was currently sitting cross legged on the floor. "Yes mama!" Ivy exclaimed as she jumped up and ran over. Together Serenity let Ivy pick out a very adorable soft pink dress that was adorned with ruffle sleeves and a fluffy neckline. After getting dressed for the day, Ivy darted out of her room and down the four flights of stairs, taking them two at a time. She was giggling loudly the entire trip to the main floor. "Happy birthday Miss Ivy" Jasper the head house Omega greeted ivy with a warm smile. "Uncle Jasper!" Ivy squealed as she grabbed into his leg with a tight hug. Jasper was in his mid forties with short brown hair that was always combed back. He had stricking green eyes and always wore a warm welcoming smile. "You're breakfast is waiting for you in the dining room" he said with a half bow. Ivy smiled brightly "Thank you". "Good morning Luna" Jasper said respectfully as Serenity came down the stairs. "Good morning Jasper" she responded with a smile. "Will the Alpha be joining you and miss Ivy?" He inquired as he kept pace with Serenity. "He should be, he wouldn't dream of missing out on blueberry pancakes" she laughed. A few moments later, Alaric made his way down the steps with his Beta and Gamma following behind them. "Rogue sightings have increased since last month Alaric, we need to do something to drive them away. We are considered the most powerful pack in this entire area and yet we've allowed this problem to continue for far to long" Derek exclaimed. Pinching the bridge of his nose, Alaric stopped walking to turn towards his Gamma. "Derek, I'm well aware of the situation and we will do something about it. Today is Ivy's birthday" he growled softly. He understood the situation could become dire if the rogues decided to attack but Alaric also knew his warriors where in the best shape physically possible. He didn't want to think about it at the moment. He just wanted to make today special for his little princess. Derek bowed slightly "I know it is her birthday but that doesn't mean we should sit back and allow them to think they have the upper ha-". His sentence was cut off by the dining room door opening. All three men turned to look as a small pink blur rushed past and tackled Alaric. "Daddy Daddy!!" Ivy chripped as she nuzzled her face into the side of his leg. "Hurry before your pancakes get cold" Alaric smiled brightly and ruffled her white hair "Of course my princess, we where on our way to come eat with you. Happy birthday" he picked her up and hugged her in a way that only a loving father could manage. "We will table this discussion later" he stated to the other two men with a glare that would make skeletons rattle with fright. Thomas looked at Derek "I told you today wasn't the best time to bring this up man" he said with a shake of his head. Derek let out of a soft groan as they stepped foot into the dinning room. Alice stood up from her seat to greet Thomas with a kiss in the cheek while Bridget smiled warmly at her mate Derek. "It's wonderful for you to join us in a timely manner" Serenity said as she looked up from where she was sitting. Alaric was already standing next to her with a supportive hand resting on her shoulder. "Sit, eat. Let us celebrate Ivy today" After Thomas and Derek took their seats, Helen and a few other omegas came out of the kitchen carrying plates of food. Helen stood next to Ivy, holding a plate with pancakes stacked three high and a generous helping of freshly cut strawberries on the side. "Here you are my sweet girl. Happy birthday" Helen said as she set down the plate on front of Ivy. Ivy turned to Helen and exclaimed "Thank you Miss Helen! It looks yummy yummy" Helen only responded with a bow of respect before heading back into the kitchen. "Please let me know if you need anything else" she said to the table as a whole before disappearing behind the door. The other omegas that where helping also began to leave the dining room while giving ivy birthday wishes. Later that evening, Ivy ran around the outside of the pack house, having already been changed into clothing that her parents didn't mind if got dirty. They sat on the porch and watched their daughter with pure bliss. "She'll make a fine alpha when her time comes" Serenity said as she put her hand on Alaric leg. "That she will my love. She will lead this pack into glory and prosperity." "There hasn't been a female alpha in many generations. I hope she will not have to face discrimination because of it" Serenity hummed slightly, concerned her beautiful daughter may face ridicule for simply being born a girl.
