CHAPTER 5

1059 Words
It was just as I thought. Sebastian was never going to leave me, he was mine and mine alone. He had decided to help me get through it if it meant we could still be together after everything. A month passed and my life was still quite peaceful. No father to cause more trouble and create debts, a couple who cares for me like their child, and my lovely fiance who makes sure I get the very best. What more could I ask for? "Darling, I was thinking maybe we could go out and get something. The hospital managers claimed you could move freely for some hours but your eating will be monitored due to the child.", Sebastian let out. "That would be nice. I was also thinking about it, maybe a little…", I was cut short by a sharp pain in my stomach. It hurt so much and I could feel blood stains on the sides of my thighs. I couldn't move, my limbs had all gone numb at the same time and I could feel something revolving in my stomach. I could only hope the baby was safe, I didn't have the money to refund them 50% just in case. "What's happening?", Sebastian asked, checking my body to see what was happening. Upon sighting the blood, he gasped, rushing out almost immediately to get help. I couldn't speak, I could only lay on the bed, helpless and useless. "What's this? Blood", Sterling let out seeing the blood stains on my white gown. "Sir Sebastian, we would need you to leave us for some moments", Sterling declared. "Stay with me, Darcie. Don't let it get to you, hold it in", Sterling said, caressing my stomach in a clockwise direction. The pain began to reduce but the effects were brutal given the circumstances I had to pass through. He grabbed his stethoscope, placing it on my chest to check my heartbeat. After a while, he placed it on my abdomen. I was too petrified to ask why he would do that but that question answered itself when his head rose with his mouth. "I can't believe this", Sterling stepped back, looking at my abdomen. "What’s happening?", I stuttered. "The baby is alive inside you. It's formed and alive only that it's a little bit bigger than a four-month-old baby. "How's that even possible?", I asked, gazing at his shocked expression. "I don't know but this has to be recorded and verified. ", He declared. His hands found his pocket and his phone followed his right palm as he brought them back up. "Bring in the device, it's time for a scan". Doctor Xander walked in some minutes later with a sort of machine. From the looks I could tell it was to check my abdomen for the child. According to human history and genetics that couldn't work out no matter what. "Stay still.", Sterling's voice echoed in my ears. Xander brought a screen right before me, he claimed it was where it would all show if the child ever existed. "There", Xander pointed at something in a grey and black colored picture. It seemed just like baby footage but I refused to believe it. "It's healthy", Sterling chuckled. "It's a half-breed. She isn't holding in a human baby so she has to be more careful in her dealings.", Xander said. "How do you know that? ", Sterling inquired. Our eyes became fixed on him, making him uncomfortable. "I studied Anatomy when I was younger so I have a thing with bones no matter how far they appear". "You have to take proper care of yourself. The child has grown stronger and faster than usual. You have to be more careful, and comfortable, and don't sleep on your stomach.", Xander began. I didn't understand a single thing he said but it was all clear to me that the baby in my womb wasn't human but a half-breed creature. I wanted to laugh but Xander's face was too stern to think it was a joke to pull my legs. "Let's not get all worked up you guys. It might just be that the sperm in question has some special effects on your egg. Your baby just might come out premature." "Premature?", I questioned. "You'll be fine. It's just a probability. It might not happen nevertheless. You still have eight months left", Sterling let out. "If not half ", Xander chuckled as he scurried out of the room with the scanning device. I couldn't tell if this was all a joke or not but something within me told me that Xander was entangled with this. Ever since that day, my abdomen kept on getting larger. Xander kept checking on me, changing my positions to ensure I was alright in terms of the baby. He treated me like a Queen and I also felt loved. Sebastian on the other hand had left for New York for a hunter's meeting. They had caught another Alpha only this time it was a female, Luna as they called it. It had stumbled upon the first Alpha's growl at the new resort and had come to help him get away. Sebastian claimed they were in sort of a relationship as they kept hugging each other but I don't believe that could happen given how subtle they seemed in my eyes. After four months of intense pain and pressure, it had finally gotten to the fifth month. I was happy that my time in the hospital had shortened and no sooner than later would I be out working once again. But I still wanted the handsome Doctor Xander to walk in every morning and check up on me. I had no information about what was going on outside the hospital since my phone got seized by the nurses who came to check my vitals. This made me depend on Xander for information and today according to him was the Lunar eclipse. Xander had let me in on the details, explaining how beautiful the lunar eclipse tonight would be and his preparations for me to see it closely. He had set the windows and had positioned my bed in a certain way that I could see it perfectly. What a wonderful man he was. "It's just as planned, the heir of the Crescent Moon pack will be born tonight."
