CHAPTER FIVE The orb increased in brightness before it bounced against my hand. The force pushed my palm down so that the back slapped the front of my leg. The ball of light shot up and struck a tree branch and was propelled to the next innocent object. Branches, brush, the ground, and even Tegan’s log were all fair game.
