Paxton Hayes

Earlier that day... Paxton's beta mind linked him and to inform him that there was someone on line 1 for him. Paxton asked if the person was of any importance. "It's Marcus from the old lineage of the Lotus pack," my beta replied. This piece of information piqued his interest as the Lotus pack was almost like a myth, once the most powerful pack to ever exist in our realm but nearly vanquished by the Rouge King himself. According to rumours, the Alpha and Luna of the Lotus pack gave birth to a rare she-wolf that was spoken about in old urban myths and legends - the Golden Rose wolf. But when the Rogue King attacked the pack and emerged victorious, there were no sightings or any words spoken about this said she-wolf. The surrounding packs came to the assumption that the Rogue King took the child under his wing to add to his collection, but even he met his demise when the packs came together and brought war to his doorstep. So, the question still stands - did she ever exist, and if so, where is she now? "That old wolf better have a good reason for bothering me," Paxton muttered. "Fine, I'll take it. Thanks, Luke," he said firmly. Luke has been Paxtons's beta for almost two years since Ihe took over as Alpha of the Northern Light Pack. Despite a power struggle at the beginning due to his experience as Beta to his father, Paxton quickly showed him who's boss by saving his life during a territorial fight. Since then, he has been extremely loyal, and Paxton couldn't ask for a better beta. "Good day, Marcus. How may I assist you at this moment?" Paxton could hear some commotion in the background before Marcus spoke up. "Greetings, Alpha Paxton. I apologize for the short notice, but I am missing a member for a committee meeting with one of my associates tomorrow. Would you consider attending? Rest assured, your presence would be greatly appreciated." As much as Paxton dreaded the prospect of attending such an event, he remained courteous. "Marcus, could you please explain how attending the committee meeting could benefit me?" Paxton could sense Marcus growing uneasy as he replied, "Of course, Alpha Paxton. My associate is an accomplished individual with a wealth of experience. If you were to attend her presentation and were convinced of her expertise, I believe you could both benefit from a potential partnership." Marcus paused, awaiting his response. Paxton placed his hand on his forehead as he absorbed the information that Marcus had just given him. Paxton was contemplating whether or not it was worth taking the risk. With the Rogue King no longer a threat, this was the perfect opportunity to establish his position in the werewolf community, offer shelter to the rogues seeking asylum, and expand his pack, territory, and lands. His wolf, Haze, suggested that they should attend the meeting. Paxton couldn't help but laugh inwardly at Haze's eagerness. "What could be so interesting about this meeting? Is it the fact that a female is leading the presentation?" he teased Haze, knowing that he wouldn't ignore his instinct. "Alright, Marcus. I'll take your advice and attend the meeting, but just know that you owe me one." With that, he hung up the phone and realized that having more people owe him favours could be beneficial in the future. Paxton asked his trusted beta Luke if he could hold the fort down while he headed into the city for an important meeting the following morning. With Luke's assurance that the pack was in good hands, Paxton set off on a mission to Visceria. The drive from the pack house to the city was long, taking about two hours to reach the edge of the city and a further ten minutes to reach the central part of the city. Once he arrived at The Visceria Hotel, he checked in and made his way to the comfortable room. As he settled in, he could sense that Haze, his wolf, was getting restless and full of anticipation. When Paxton asked Haze what was going on, Haze replied that he could sense that something exciting was going to happen. Paxton was intrigued by Haze's response but had no idea what it could be. With the lack of information from Haze, he decided to get some rest before the meeting the next day. As he drifted off to sleep, he wondered if it was the meeting that had Haze all stirred up. The excitement was palpable, and he could feel it too.
