VLADIMIR Who would have thought that someone like me would have a hard time finding a mate? “You have till Christmas to find a mate. It is unheard of for someone of your status to be without a Luna for such a long period of time.” The words of the highest ranking elder rang at the back of my mind as we sped down the road with the stripper from the club seated beside me. I had no idea why I had resorted to this, but it was my only shot at ending the madness of the hunt for a mate. The elders had turned it into a frustrating experience with the way they kept setting me up to meet with various silly women who did nothing but piss me off. In one of such arrangements, the she-wolf in question, who was none other than the daughter of an elder on the council, had tried to seduce me, but I had walked out on her. That night, I couldn’t help but wonder if there was something wrong with me? Was there a reason why I wasn’t so easily attracted to women? I found most of them repulsive and annoying. It was odd, but it was the truth, so when one of my trusted guards suggested I pay a visit to a club to unwind from all the stress of what was going on, I jumped on it. Not because I wanted to but because I was eager to know if I was really not attracted to women. I had almost given up on the whole thing when she walked in. I was pulled to her immediately, and even though she was the least attractive woman in the room, she stood out boldly among the others, and it was almost impossible to ignore her. Unlike anything I had ever experienced, that night was something else. By the time I climaxed, I realized I wanted her all over again, and that made me panic. I had never felt that way for any woman before, so to feel that way towards an omega and a stripper irked me, so I left without saying anything to her. “You can just drop me off here, I’ll find my way home from here.” She said, her voice trembling as she kept moving around in her seat uncomfortably. I knew she was scared, I could smell that it was amusing to watch her act that way. I could see the horror on her face when the car didn’t slow down but sped right past where she had asked me to drop her off. She turned to me with a tear stained face, “I can pay you back the money, please just let me go, please…” she sobbed. “I don’t want the money, Sienna.” Her name rolled off my tongue in such a manner that I found oddly soothing. “W-What do you want? Please just tell me what you…” “Marry me.” I blurted out because there was no other way to say it that it wouldn’t sound crazy. I had thought it through the entire night, and I still couldn’t come up with any reasonable way to say it. The idea was just as bad as it sounded, but I had no choice. This was my only way out of this mess. A pretend wife and someone like her, someone who had been able to spark my interest sexually was the best option for what I had in mind. At least, with her, I would be able to endure the marriage for as long as it needed to last. “What?!” She stared at me dumbfoundedly, and I sighed heavily because I knew I would have to explain, and I hated that part, but I had to do it. Thankfully, when I walked in on the drama going on with her and her boss, I saw an opportunity that would help me get her onboard so that was why I had offered to clear the debt because I knew it would be something I could use for my own interest later on. “Don’t worry, it’s just for show. You don’t have to really get married to me, and I am willing to give you whatever you want in exchange for you to stay as my wife for a year.” I added, and she just stared at me with her eyes wide open in disbelief, like I had just spoken in a language she couldn't understand. Her reaction was expected, so I gave her time to properly process what I had just said. “Are you serious? Wait… you’re serious?” She inquired as she stared at me in shock. “It’s just for a year, Sienna, and I am willing to pay you generously for it, forgetting the fact that you owe me for clearing up your debts back there.” I responded, and she fell silent for a few minutes and had this look on her face that made it obvious that she was seriously pondering over the whole thing. “That means I won’t have to go home for a year?” She mumbled before she looked up at me sharply, “I have a few more debts.” She added, her tone a little unsure. I raised a brow at her. It was expected of someone of her status, but I was just surprised and curious to know what kind of life she lived for her to be tangled up with so many debts. “I’ll sort them all out for you and still pay you for the one year you will stay married to me.” I responded, and her mouth hung open in surprise as if she had not expected me to say that or agree with her. “You really mean that?” She asked again, and I glanced away from her because I hated how her hazel eyes made me feel. “How about you find out for yourself if I really mean it or not.” I said to her just as the car came to a halt in front of the mansion, and the guards pulled open the door for me with their heads bowed. “This would be your new home, Sienna, and you might want to brace yourself because being married to me won't be as easy as you think.” I added before I alighted from the car and headed inside. She maintained her distance but followed after me. I wasn’t lying when I told her it wouldn’t be easy to be my wife. The council would most likely reject her for her status and her past life as a stripper but that was going to be the least of her worries because she had no clue who I really was. All she probably knew was that I was Alpha Vladimir Blackwood, ruler of all the nine packs but she had no idea the real reason behind why I needed a wife and the real man behind my entire facade. She had no f*****g clue what she had just walked into!
