Hello Silvia, is anything the problem?’ Mabel asked as she picked up the receiver. It was very unlike Silvia to call her during working hours.
‘Yes. Everything is the problem. We can’t find Jessica,’ Silvia blurted out in an obviously panicky tone.
‘What? What do you mean you can’t find Jessica?’
‘Sister, I don’t know. Mama came to my house to inform me that Jessica has not returned from school. At first, I took it as mama’s usual panic so I drove her back to your place but we’ve been waiting for almost an hour and she’s not yet back.’
‘My goodness.’ Mabel glanced at her wristwatch. ‘But it’s almost 6:30 pm,’ she said impulsively. She had already picked up her handbag and was on her way to the parking lot.
