CHAPTER THREE Forests from time immemorial have been associated with danger and some of them even with evil. They have also nonetheless signified some sort of preservation both of wild life and of very ancient trees; of plant life in general. These same symbols of preservation have regrettably also been turned into homes by kidnappers. Somewhere in Oshogbo, the capital of Osun, Nigeria, solid walls stood in the centre of this thick cluster of bushes. The house was properly built but rather indecent for a dwelling place. It stood there alone covered completely by the thick forest and with poor lighting. No one knew it was there until they had cause to come in contact with it. No one would pray to. But no one as much as cared. ‘Hey, you! You are the next in line. What are you waiting for?
