Chapter 2

Bright rays of sunlight fall on Ella's face forcing her to turn to the other side with a frown. With a sigh, she forced herself up from bed and sat up for a while. Ella got off her bed and moved closer to the full length mirror that stood beside her dressing table. She stared into the mirror, looking deeply at the girl that stared back at her. Luscious green eyes stared back at her with a strand of black hair in front of her face.

She tore her eyes away from her reflection and rang for Marigold. In less than a minute, Marigold was at the door waiting for Ella's command.

“Marigold.” She turned to face her maid. “I have to be at the courtroom soon. Get me a suitable gown to wear and prepare everything you know I need.”

“Yes, my queen.” Marigold gave a small bow and started making preparations. After some minutes, Ella heard Marigold's footsteps coming closer to her.

“My queen, your bath is ready.”

Ella gave a small nod before taking off her clothes. She went into the bathroom, checked the temperature of the water and frowned when she realized it wasn't hot enough. It was probably scalding hot to some people bit to her it wasn't hot enough.

She opened a new pack of toothbrushes and toothpaste. When she was done brushing her teeth, she opened a new bar of soap and sponge and started taking her bath. After scrubbing hard till her normal tan skin turned red, she washed her hair and with one final rinsing, she took her robe and got out of the bathroom.

When she came out, she saw a blue gown laid on the bed for her. Her jewelry and other things were on the dressing table. She put on the gown and made herself look presentable for her appearance. When she was done with her preparations, she walked out of the room and her guards walked beside her.

By the time she made it to the courtroom, she saw the high cabinet members and the elders already seated awaiting her presence. The courtroom that was formerly filled with murmurs falls into silence when she enters. Her powerful strides to her throne commanded respect and subservience and all present in the courtroom understood that very well.

“Call in the first case.” Ella ordered once she sat down.

A high cabinet member stood up and gave Ella a small bow. He beckoned on a guard to bring the people who would be judged. It happened to be a dispute over land.

Ella listened to them and delivered justice over the matter before calling on the next case. After solving two more cases, the high cabinet member calls on the guard to bring in the next people whose case was now about to be judged.

“My queen.” He continued. “The next case before this court is a case of alleged rape.”

Ella felt her chest tightened at those words. She tried her best not to let any of her emotions show and kept her passive expression.

"Bring in the defendant and the suspect.” Ella ordered.

Some guards brought in a woman and a man. The man was wearing a scowl on his face while the woman had a rather sullen expression. Ella could tell from their distinctive scents that the woman was an Omega and the man, an Alpha.

“The defendant should please tender her complaint." The high-cabinet member by the name, Hypha, said before taking his seat.

"Thank you for deciding to listen to my case, My queen.” The Omega lady gave a bow before continuing.

“My name is Reese Anria. I am a 23 year old Omega and I used to work in a publishing company under this man.” Reese pointed at the man standing beside her.

“Throughout the time that I worked with this man, I have endured various acts of s****l harassment perpetuated towards me by him. He is the executive director of the firm you see. I decided to endure all the harassment because that was my only source of income."

Ella notices the woman's eyes starting to tear up as she becomes emotional. The man's scowl grows deeper as he restrains himself from looking in her direction.

“One evening when all the other employees had gone home, I was held back by him. He called me to his office and started saying some really vulgar things. He kept going on about how much he loved me and how he really wanted to be in a relationship with him. I refused and told him it couldn't work.”

“That is all false, your highness. I never did any of the things she claims.” The man scoffed out, finally unable to restrain himself from talking.

“You will be quiet until I allow you to speak.” Ella ordered with a growl.

The man bit his lips, his eyes still full of barely restrained rage. Tears were flowing from her eyes at this point.

“Go on.” Ella encouraged her. Reese gave a nod before going on.

“After I rejected his proposal, he suddenly got angry and backed me into a corner. He kept screaming at me, telling me how I have no power over him and how he could do whatever he wanted with me. He pinned me to a table and started taking off my clothes. There was no one left in the office that could have come to my aid. I couldn't do anything, my queen. I was so pathetic and useless back then and I just let him have his way.” Reese dropped to her knees with a loud sob, tears streaming down her face uncontrollably.

All the high-cabinet members had different expressions. Some of them looked saddened while others maintained a neutral expression. Ella was livid with anger at what she heard.

“Thank you for speaking Reese.” Ella said with a soft tone. Reese was still on her knees, tears rolling down her cheeks. Ella made sure her passive mask didn't slip off her face as she turned to the man.

“What is your name?” She asked.

“Michael Cornell.” The man answered.

“Are the allegations leveled against you by the defendant true?” Ella went on.

Micheal chuckled lightly before answering. “Of course not, your highness. I know I am an Alpha and that might make you think these allegations are true but that is not the case.”

“Explain yourself, then.” Ella folded her arms and leveled her gaze on the Alpha.

“Thank you. First off, all this woman has said are lies.” Micheal turned to Reese whose gaze was fixed on the floor.

“I never forced her into a relationship with me nor did I harass her. She's simply trying to ruin my reputation and destroy all I hold near. I am an Alpha. I have a family. A wife and two kids. What more would I want from a mere Omega who has nothing to offer me but s*x? If I want s*x, I can get it whenever I want. I wouldn't want it from the likes of her. She's a liar, your highness.” Micheal said all this, the smirk not leaving his face at any time.

Ella felt her blood boiling with rage at the man's words.

“Miss Reese, do you have any evidence that the suspect assaulted you?” Ella asks the Omega.

Reese gave the brown folder in her hands to a guard. The guards took it to Ella and when the contents were open, her jaw tightened with anger.

The contents were pictures of the injuries on her thighs and a hospital report which stated that the bruises on her private part were due to her being assaulted. There were also a few pictures of text messages between Reese and Micheal where he threatened her not to say anything about what happened.The icing on the cake was a document which contained a log of employees and the time they left the office on the fateful day.

“For my judgment.” Ella begins. “After listening to both statements of the defendant and accused, the courtroom hereby finds Micheal Cornell guilty of sexually harassing and assaulting Reese Anria. He will be sentenced to life imprisonment with no possiblity of bail. He is to be stripped of everything he owns and will pay Reese for all the damages caused to her physically and mentally.”

Micheal tried to protest with shouts of profanities but he was dragged away by the guards. Reese thanked Ella amidst tears before she was told she could go. A guard walked up to Ella and gave a bow before speaking.

“My queen, there is a man who wishes to speak to you.”.

“Let him in.” Ella answered.

She is surprised when she sees Anderson waking up to the center of the courtroom. What does he want to say?

“My queen, I know I am a lone Alpha wolf who was accepted into this pack due to your kind grace. However, I have something to tell you.” He paused.

“I am your mate, my queen.” Anderson smiled.

Ella felt her heart pounding in her chest as anger welled up in her. It was like what Anderson said had finally set her off. She was done with it all.

“Guards! Arrest him.”
