Natalie knew for sure that she was never going to go to Elijah's house to meet his brother. She knew for a fact that Jeremy would recognise her immediately he saw her and she was not going to risk that.
She had to come up with a way of letting Elijah know that she wouldn't be going to meet his brother without him suspecting that she was hiding something from him.
