Blurb

They say time heals everything but Ivy learned early that time only sharpens pain into something dangerous.

Years ago, she watched her world burn. Her parents were taken from her in a single, brutal night, leaving behind nothing but blood, silence, and a name she would never forget. The man responsible became a shadow devil into her soul and the reason she refused to stay broken.

Rescued from nothing and raised in luxury by a powerful family. Ivy grew into someone unrecognisable, poised, intelligent and dangerously controlling. But beneath the elegance and quiet smiles, she carried one purpose: revenge. And when the truth finally surfaces, it cuts deeper than she imagined.

The empire she now calls home is tied to the man who destroyed her life.So she makes a choice. She won't attack him directly. She'll ruin him through the one thing he can't live without.

His son.

Lyan Vale was never supposed to matter. Cold, arrogant, untouchable he was simply a target. A heart she would slowly break. A weapon she would use. And at first, everything goes exactly as planned.

He falls.

But Ivy didn’t plan for the way his walls begin to c***k for only her. She didn’t plan for the way he shields her from a world that was never kind. And she definitely didn't plan for the dangerous pull in her chest every time he says her name like it means something.Because somewhere between lies and stolen moments. She starts to feel. And that's when everything begins to fall apart.Jealous eyes start watching her too closely.Secrets slip through locked doors.

And whispers of betrayal begin to circle the life she carefully built. Then comes the truth that shatters everything

Her parents are alive. Not dead. Hidden.

And the man she swore to destroy might not be the real villain after all.As buried secrets claw their way to the surface, alliances begin to twist, and the past refuses to stay buried. Someone else is pulling the strings someone closer than she ever imagined. Someone willing to destroy everything to keep the truth hidden.Including her.

Now Ivy stands at the edge of everything she's fought for revenge within reach, love slipping through her fingers, and a truth powerful enough to burn entire empires to the ground.

Bur when Lyan discovers her deception when love turns into betrayal and fear

Will he still choose her?

Or will he become the very thing she feared

Her enemy?

Because in a world built on lies, jealousy, and revenge, love was never part of the plan.

And this time

If she chooses wrong, she won't just lose her revenge.

She'Il lose him.

Forever.

Chapter one
Ivy POV Blood filled everywhere, the houses across the road breathing fire, my parents were gone. I held the knife, shaking about to make a decision. I am Ivy Sinclair and this is my story. For sixteen years, I had imagined this moment, now that it was here, revenge suddenly had a face. The ballroom glittered with wealth, crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling, their light dancing across marbles polished enough to reflect every designer heel that walked past it. I smiled It was the kind of smile people trusted, the kind that belonged to a young woman who had everything. Beauty, Elegance and Confidence. No one could ever see the fire beneath them. Miss Sinclair? I turned to the waiter, accepting a glass of champagne with a graceful nod. “Thank you” My fingers barely touched the wine glass before the extreme feeling of fear. The room became strangely quiet. A while ago everyone was interacting with each other. Heads turned around to the entrance, only for someone to whisper the name that haunted my nightmares for sixteen years. “Mr Dante Vale has arrived.” The glass nearly slipped out of my hands. For a second, I wasn’t twenty-two anymore, I was six. Blood filled the floor, My mother’s desperate scream, my father’s trembling hands pushing me under the bed. “Don’t come out, no matter what happens.” From one gunshot to another. I blinked, forcing the memories back to the darkness where they belonged. When I looked up, he was standing a few feet away. He looked older than I remembered, more powerful, more evil. Smiling like he has never stolen anyone’s family. Sixteen years, Sixteen years of wondering what I would do if I ever stood in the same room with the man who destroyed my life. Now I know. I could hear my heartbeat from my ears. I tried so hard to fight my emotions with a smile, I didn’t know pretending could be this difficult. He was offered a bottle of champagne and for a moment I thought to myself, why don’t I poison him to end all the sufferings and misery he put me through, but that wouldn’t be painful enough for him,he deserved a slow but painful death, a kind that even his ghost won’t recover from. I snapped out of it immediately, because with all this anger and hatred, I could spoil my plan. He walked directly past me, only for him to stop and walk back to me. “You look familiar, have we met before?” I was filled with rage but I let out a smile. “No we haven’t, but being the daughter of Mr and Mrs Sinclair, you must have seen my picture somewhere.” “Oh, my bad you’re all grown now. The last time we met you were still a little girl.” I uttered to myself, Of course, I was still little you murderer, I agree with you sir, I then directed him to my dad. All I could feel was the urge to tear him apart. I didn’t understand how a person could be so evil and wicked and yet still smile like he had done nothing. He climbed up to the stage “Allow me to introduce my son,” Dante said proudly, placing his hand on the shoulders of a tall man beside him. My eyes lifted slowly, Dark suit, cold blue eyes, a face made out of wealth, power, ignorance and control. Lyan Vale He looked at me for only a second, but somehow I felt like he had seen straight through me. Good Because he had no idea that he wasn’t the target, he was the weapon. I forced myself to look away, his name repeated in my head. I mean he’s the son of the wealthy and famous “Dante vale” Looking at him, accomplishing my mission wouldn’t be as easy as I thought. Unlike his dad he didn’t look evil, heartless. He didn’t look like someone I could hate without a reason. “Have we met before? I lifted my head only to see that my target had come to me by himself. He looked directly at me, none of us said anything for about 5 seconds. “No,” we haven’t He smiled, But you are the daughter of Mr and Mrs Sinclair? I replied immediately,“ Yes, but that’s not a reason we should know each other.” Should it? He let out a laugh. “I like the confidence, but trust me, I have a way of breaking people like you” I laughed out loudly, he wasn’t what I expected, he was perfect for my game! Someone touched my shoulders, Mum, it was my mum “ You guys are already getting to know yourselves. I was looking for you everywhere to introduce you to him, oh well you guys should have fun. If you need anything, I’ll be in the board room with your dad and his family” Before I could say hi, she was already gone, typical mum. She wants me to have more male friends. Lyan and I went up to the boardroom. There I watched Dante Vale laugh very loudly with other business partners. I watched him very carefully. He laughed like he only does good, Like a man who never left a little girl to die after taking both her parents at such an early age My fingers tightened around the glass of wine I was holding. I knew I was going to make him pay dearly for what he did to me. But first I had to make Lyan Vale, his son, fall in love with me. And somehow I just knew Lyan wasn’t going to make it easy for me. But at that moment, I didn’t care about how tough it would be, all I wanted was to get my revenge in action. Shortly, we heard a loud scream from the party hall, commotion everywhere, bullets flying around We all ran downstairs, but before we could hide, somebody behind us was shot. I screamed.
