"oooh yes! f**k right there, yes, yes, yes" I cry out, clutching the sheets with all that I have, I can feel my stomach knotting, meaning I'm close... "f**k!" I cry out as I find my release.

I throw my head back and release a small chuckle. I can't believe this. I can feel sweat dripping from my forehead.

I stand up and sashay to the bathroom, as soon as the hot water touches my skin, yesterdays events replay like a broken record. Why would Kagiso do that? I mean... I though...

"f**k" I cuss out. I don't even know how I'm going to look at him in the eye. I remember his look when he got out of the shower. He was happy... He looked relaxed and... "ooh God" I groan tipping my head back, things are so awkward.

Yona:"hey babe, will I see you later on?"

And then there's Mayona, lord I can't keep up with her moodswings, I got her call early this morning asking we meet up for lunch. And as always, she wanted s*x. Of course we all want s*x but... I dont know but what, all I know is that's there's a but somewhere somewhere.

Me:"yeah sure" I answer her. As soon as I feel that the shower has done its job, I turn the shower tap off, she's nowhere insight when I get off... Ooh well... I'm not complaining.

I dress up in a nude heels, peach skirt and a white shirt. I grab my bag and cellphone from the coffee table in the room and walk out, she booked us a room just. Let's me keep quite, if I'm not careful, I'm gonna age sooner that I should.

As soon as I get to reception I oder myself an uber. Five minutes later it arrives and we drive out. I politely ask the driver we pass by mc Donalds drive thru for a quick meal and mc flurry. I feel relaxed and a little tension has been loaded off.

*a month later*

The past months have been... Wow!

For want of a better word. Things have been... Okay if I can say that, I haven't mentioned the incident that happened to kagiso or Mayona so I had to get over everything on my own.

Right now... I have to be the dutiful makoti, I'm in the kitchen cooking because kagisos' parents just showed up unannounced. Lucky for them it's a Saturday and Kagiso asked I look after baby Cav because apparently our dear Nancy had a stomach bug. So here am I slaving away because apparently that's what 'wives' do, mxm!

Akitse ke itsentseng(I don't what what i got myself into)

Maureen, kagisos' mom comes to the kitchen with a trey of tea,

Maureen:"you know Oratilwe, wena no'mtanami(you and my child) would make a really nice couple, niya fanelana(you suit each other) "

Haibo! This woman! I just looked and her and chuckled a bit,

Maureen:"ooh mtanami, yoza uzohlana Nami Lana" (come sit here with me)

She held me by my hand, decreased the stove to one and led me to the table, grabbing my hand into hers she looked me in the eye and smiled.

Maureen:"uyangtjela uKagiso ukhithi kukhona umuntu empilweni yakho (Kagiso tells me that you have someone in your life)

She looked at me expecting an answer, so I nodded my head. And she laughed. I turned to look at her.

Maureen:" oooh mdazanawam' it's all going to be alright from now on. Put your faith in God, everything is possible with him"

Ohkay!? How did the conversation steer here? She decided to help me in the kitchen and it was quite nice having someone in the kitchen helping me.

Me:"it's nice having someone help cook"

She stopped cleaning the pot and looked at me.

Maureen:"Kagiso doesn't help?"

Uuhm!

Me:"not really" eh! How do I even tell her that I don't stay here?

Maureen:"heh! Koor kagiso thinks just because he's married everything he used to do must now stop, in fact uphi yena?" (where is he)

Me:"uhm... O" just then the door opened and kagiso entered holding Nancy's handbag both of them giggling.

Their little moment stopped when a dish cloth was thrown at Kagiso

Kagiso:"mama!"

Maureen:"vele ngunyoko? " (I am your mother)

Eh this woman! Nancy looked at me, what you looking at me for?

Maureen:"kagiso weh!"

Kagisos' dad emerged from the lounged carry a glass of whisky on his hand.

Mr. M:" umsindo owani mamakhe" (what's the notice for my dear)

Me:"Uuhm..." she cut me off.

Maureen:"jama kancane makoti. Kagiso weh! Didn't i teach you that the kitchen is not for woman only?"

Kagiso:"you did mom" he looked between me and his mom, I shrugged my shoulders.

Maureen:"Hamba and help makoti dish up, let's go baba"

This woman is Savage. I just shook my head.

Me:"Kagiso don't worry, I'll dish up, I was done anyway, Nancy how are you?"

She looked at me and clicked her tongue. Weh Nancy...

Kagiso:"Nancy I'll call you a cab, and Ora I'll help I know my mom, she won't mind giving me a s***k right here right now"

I chuckled and walked back to the kitchen and left them two. I dont understand what the hell Nancy hates me for. I never did anything to her.

We settled in front of the TV room, having a coffee and biscuits, kagiso and his dad are both on the single couch while Maureen and I are on the twin couch, a movie is playing and no one is paying attention. For some reason I can see that there's some tension between Kagiso and his dad but they playing it cool.

Suddenly there's a knock on the door. Everyones attention turns to the door.

Maureen:"are you expecting anyone?"

I shake my head no and turn to Kagiso, he stands up and walks to the door. When he opens a sweaty shaking vhutshilo enters

Vhutshilo:"dude we got a problem... Home affairs and Alexander..." he suddenly stops when he see all of us. Suddenly Mr Mahlangu stands up and his face turns angry.

Mr. M:"You two... Office" he orders them...

Vhutshilo:"Mr... M...."

He doesn't get to finish his sentence because the Mahlangu man are already on their way.

I could hear shouting coming from office, Maureen tried to engage me in a conversation but my mind won't allow me to move on from what's happening in there, a few seconds later kagiso walked out fuming, he grabbed his keys and left banging the door, startling me and Maureen.

Maureen:"baba! What's wrong"

Mr. M just shrugged his shoulders and slumped on the couch.

Mr. M:"aai! Kushubile mfazi" he said shaking his head. I dont know why but I felt my heart beating fast, a part of me thought that's vhutshilo was here because of the marriage thingie, but what I don't understand is why is there trouble.

Maureen:"my dear, why don't you go lie down I'm sure Kagiso will be fine wherever he is?" All I could do is nod my head yes but still sitting down. I heard her sigh and stand up. "don't worry about cavin, I have him for the night" then she patted my shoulder.

I've been sitting in this couch I don't know for how long, my feet on the couch, my hands hugging my feet. I can feel my eyes dropping but I'm not allowing it. I hear a key clicking and the kitchen door opening. I quickly stood up and came face to face with Kagiso, bloodshot eyes

Me:"Kagiso"

He passed me heading straight to the bedroom.

Me:"Kagiso what's going on"

Kagiso:"Ora Leave it alone" he pushed passed me walked to the bedroom. I stood frozen on the passage.

Figuring that I also need answers, I walked after him, he looked ready to sleep.

Me:"for heaven sakes Kagiso, if it's about our marriage then I deserve to know don't you think? It concerns me too"

Kagiso:"yoh, yoh, yoh! Motho... Can you let it go?"

Me:"but-" he interrupted me.

Kagiso:"but nothing woman, stop pestering me, for once let me be okay? It's always you this, you that, can I have peace without actually having to baby you, tjeer, you too much work damn it" his voice was now octaves higher, "tjesis, umutu akakwazi nokuphuma ngawe" (a person can't rest because of you)

I felt my heart shattering into a million pieces, this is it, this is his breaking point. I felt tears blurring my vision.

For some time I felt like I had someone to fight for me but I guess not, I have no one in this world, I'm all on my own now, no mother, no father, no friends literally I have No one to cry to.

Me:"I'm sorry" a lone tear made it's way out, I quickly wiped it, "I'm sorry I'm such a burden"

I saw his face changed.

Kagiso :"Ora... I.."

I interrupted

Me:"no, it was long overdue. You don't have to stress about me no more, I'm a grown ass woman I can take care of myself"

I grabbed my phone from the nightstand and walked out with him calling out my name, I passed his mother and father on the passage, in their gowns.

Maureen :"honey what's wrong?"

Me:"no I'm fine don't worry about me"

Wiping my tears, I walked out with everyone calling my name, quickly ordering an uber, I walked through the driveway and out the gate. A few minutes later, the uber came and took me home. Well... To Kagiso apartment. Koor I have nothing to my name? Literally!

I'm woken by a banging on the door, f**k! My head feels like it has been hit by a truck, it's the aftermath of crying yourself to sleep, when I got back I broke down, I questioned a lot of things and yet I have no answers to them.

I look around me and realise that in in an unfamiliar place, the banging continues, a few minutes later I hear people arguing, I stand up and walk over to where the voice are coming from.

Kagiso:"f**k! Ora I'm really sorry, please believe me okay"

Me:"kagiso what are you doing here?"

There really is nothing I have to say to him.

Kagiso:"I've been worried sick about you, I went to the apartment and you weren't there"

Me:"clearly, but you didn't answer me, what are you doing here, legona, how did you know I was here"

I saw a bit of hesitation before mayona interrupted.

Yona:"bruh you need to leave"

kagiso shot her a murderous look but she wasn't backing out.

Kagiso :"it doesn't concern you"

Yona:"yes it does, she's my girlfriend"

Kagiso released a soft chuckle

Kagiso :"please, she is my wife"

I Could see mayona getting angry, i know her, once she starts there's no go going back.

Walking away from them, I went to put my shoes on and walked out with them still shouting at each other, I don't know where I'm headed but I just want to be as far away from them as possible.

I felt my phone vibrating from my pocket, I took it out and It was kagiso calling me, i sent the call to reject and continued with my walk. Last night, when i got to the apartment, I broke down and cried, taking my phone out I tried to call mayona, as if God was on my side, she picked up. Told me she's still in town and sent me her hotel room number. Thank God for that because I don't know what I would have done.

My phone vibrates again, I look and it's a number I don't recognize, it's probably them. I let it ring and a few minutes later a text comes through.

-meet me for coffee, it's rather urgent-Mulcum

My heart rate picked up.

-where? I texted back.

-mugg n bean, 8:30

Its just after seven now. I walked around for another thirty minutes before I called an uber and went to the apartment. I had a shower and wore a dress and a Jean jacket with sandles, I tied my hair and applied gloss on my lips, finally I grabbed my bag and walked out.

When I got to mug n bean, I saw him talking to a waiter, I walked over to him and sat down.

Me:"hey sorry im late"

Mulcum:"it's fine, I ordered for you, hope you don't mind"

Me:"no its fine"

Mulcum:"right, okay... So I'm sure by now you know that home affairs wants to investigate you all"

What? I felt the air leaving my lungs, so that's why kagiso was like that yesterday.

Mulcum:"you know right?"

Me:"uhm yes" I need to play along if I want to know everything.

Mulcum:"well... Apparently someone reported you, saying that your marriage is fake"

What? Who would do that "as a result, an investigation was launched, as you know the Mahlangu are big shots and the land you have to get is not easy either, so..."

Me:"okay, okay... What do I have to do?"

He looked at me hesitantly

Mulcum:"for now, play far from mayona, she's not who you think she is"

What's that supposed to mean. "this envelope contains a lot of info that can be useful to you, I'll give it to you once I leave here, another thing, you and kagiso have to put on a front, convise everyone that you are happily married, act as if you know nothing about the inheritance"

Then he stood up.

Mulcum:"careful who you trust, not everyone what's what's good for you"

Ohkay? What is that's supposed to mean? He left me with more questions than answers. And who am I supposed to trust? What is it about mayona? Lord please help me.
