It was almost midnight when they returned to Jethro’s fortress. Jethro was bruised all over, and even though he had been cleaned up, the claw marks on his skin still showed. Rashel was bruised as well, and all her bones ached. The other members of the pack who fought in the battle were in similar conditions as well. Yet, nobody slept or even had time to nurse their pain. The adrenaline surge was as high as when they were on the battlefield. Milla had to be found. Rashel stood in the control room in the east wing, hair still damp from a hurried shower; she had changed into a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt.
