Chapter 6 The next morning, Destiny woke up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day. She got dressed in a bright yellow salwar kameez, one of her favorite outfits from her shopping trip with Rohan. She paired it with a pair of comfortable sandals and let her hair down, letting it fall in loose waves down her back. As she walked into the kitchen, she was greeted by the delicious smell of freshly brewed chai and the sound of Rohan humming along to a Bollywood tune. "Good morning, Rohan!" Destiny said, smiling as she poured herself a cup of chai. "Good morning, Destiny! You look lovely today," Rohan replied, handing her a plate of hot parathas and scrambled eggs. Destiny's eyes widened as she took a bite of the paratha. "Wow, this is delicious! You're a great cook, Rohan." Rohan chuckled, his eyes crinking at the corners. "Thanks, Destiny. I've been trying to perfect my cooking skills. Maybe one day I'll open my own restaurant." Destiny laughed, imagining Rohan in a bustling kitchen, whipping up delicious dishes. "I wouldn't put it past you, Rohan. You have a lot of talents." As they finished breakfast, Destiny's phone buzzed with a message from an unknown number. "Hey Destiny, it's Priya from the hospital. I wanted to invite you to lunch today. We're trying out that new cafe down the street. Want to join us?" Destiny's eyes widened as she showed the message to Rohan. "Who's Priya?" she asked. Rohan grinned. "Priya is one of the other residents at the hospital. She's a great girl, you'll love her. You should totally go!" Destiny hesitated for a moment, unsure if she should go. But Rohan's encouragement and the prospect of meeting new people won her over. "I'll go," she said, smiling. Priya was waiting for her at the cafe, along with a group of other doctors and nurses from the hospital. Destiny was a bit intimidated at first, but Priya quickly put her at ease. "Hey, Destiny! Welcome to the group," Priya said, hugging her warmly. "We're so glad you could make it." The group welcomed her with open arms, and Destiny felt like she had known them for years. They talked about everything from their favorite TV shows to their most memorable cases at the hospital. As they finished lunch, Priya turned to Destiny and asked, "Hey, do you want to go shopping with me this weekend? I need to get some new clothes, and I could use a friend." Destiny's face lit up. "I'd love to!" The two of them exchanged numbers, and Destiny couldn't wait to explore the city with her new friend. As she walked back to the apartment with Rohan, she felt a sense of excitement and belonging. She was starting to make friends, and she was starting to feel like she was home. "Thanks, Rohan," she said, smiling at him. "I had a great time today." Rohan smiled back, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "No problem, Destiny. I'm glad you're making friends." Destiny's phone buzzed again, and she pulled it out to check the message. It was Priya, sending her a funny meme and a message that said, "Can't wait for our shopping trip on Saturday!" Destiny smiled, feeling a sense of happiness wash over her. She was starting to feel like she was exactly where she was meant to be a part of this vibrant, crazy, and amazing .
