Gerald POV
The news about a mysterious Dragon. That was the only reason why I left Daphne's room. I would have been there, sucking on her t**s. I still don't believe such thing and I won't, until I see it with my two eyes.
Castro adjusted my robe for me. I was still acting as king, I'm not yet king. But, I'll be. Very soon.
"Are you sure you're going to let Daphne leave after?" He suddenly asked, adjusting my collar. His accent rang in my ear and I turned my neck to gazed at him.
"Why do you ask?"
"I'm just wondering. I should know what's on your mind for I'm your Beta" he said. I nodded. He was right.
I looked at my handsome self in the old mirror.
"I'm done with Daphne. I've marked her already and she'll be out of the palace soon. Besides, I can't be with her. What would people think, seeing me with a servant. There's no way I can stoop so low" I said.
Castro nodded in agreement.
"Let's go then. The ride is waiting outside" he said. We were just about to leave but, the door threw wide open and Ivy walked in. The bloody guards aren't there to stop her. f**k!
"Greetings, my king" she bowed, holding her royal blue gown, careful not to touch the ground.
"What do you want?" I asked her.
"I only came to see you, is there anything wrong?" She asked.
"I have to go to town. I'll leave" I said and left her. I was vexed. I was annoyed that she was here.
She was walking after me. Castro opened the door. Hold and behold, my mate was there. I really should stop calling her that.
"What do you want?" I asked, venting all of my anger upon her.
She innocently walked to me, with her cute eyes.
"I was wondering if I could leave the palace now" she asked.
"Leave?" I asked and scoffed.
She can't leave now. I can't allow that. I know I said I was done with her, but... she can't leave now. I hid my hands behind and majestically walked closer to her. I perceived her scent. The same one I did last night that turned me on.
"When I get back, we'll talk about that. I'm busy right now" I said.
"But..." She tried to talk, but, I pushed her. She fell and hit her back hard. I didn't care. I cared more about my image and I want to make a good, but feared king.
We head into town. Immediately we got there, we started checking the burnt houses. Even the bakery and the gold smith shop was burnt to the ground.
Some guards were already inspecting.
The head guard ran to me and bowed.
"Greetings your majesty"
"Feedback" Castro said.
"More than fifty people were badly injured. We lost a lot of live stock and farms. The fire went up the mountain and stopped by two rivers"
"No life was lost. Great. What caused the fire?" I asked. I said, I'm never going to believe it's a dragon.
The guard was confused. He knew that everyone was sure it was a dragon.
"It was a dragon, your majesty" he said.
"Do you want to get your limb removed?" I yelled at him. He immediately fell on his knees and started apologizing. The people saw this. The look on their faces weren't good. They look like, they were hating me.
"Stand up. I only want to make sure to find out what happened to my people. I promise to get to the bottom of this" I said loudly and their expression changed a bit.
"Find me some evidence that it's a dragon" I whispered to the guard.
He bowed and left. Castro folded his hands and waited close to me. I saw him looking else where. I saw it was Daphne. She was crying as she ran out of the Gatlin mansion.
They were lucky that their mansion wasn't burnt to the ground.
"You are thinking about Daphne, huh?" I asked. He snapped back to reality and sniffed in.
"No, I wasn't" he said. I turned to him, standing directly opposite him.
"Why would you be thinking about my mate?" I asked, angrily.
"I'm not thinking about your mate. Why would I?" He said.
I placed a hand on his shoulder and laughed.
"Why do you look so serious? I'm just joking. I'm letting you of her" I said and laughed. Castro nodded and looked ahead. He never laugh or smile. It's difficult to read his facial expression.
Three people finally came. They were looking injured. Except, the young boy.
"Greetings, your majesty" they bowed.
"Tell me, you saw the dragon?"
"I did your majesty. I was in the woods. He flew up and started breathing out fire" the first man said.
"I was working late at night, when I saw it. I had to take my kids and run away. It's huge and deadly!"
I cleared my throat, trying not to laugh. The story wasn't convincing enough.
"Here, your majesty. It's a dragon scale" the youngest boy said, handing the stuff to me.
I took it and looked at it. It was red. Are these people kidding me?
"Have you ever seen a real life dragon before Castro?"
"No, your majesty" he said.
"Yet, these people claim they saw it. And it's a red dragon. Amazing!" I said and handed the so called dragon scale to him.
"Everything you lost will be restored. I promise you all" I said.
They bowed and the guards took them away.
"Let's leave from here. I'm sick of these people" I ordered Castro. We went back to the Palace. There's no way I'm believing that s**t. There's no dragon.
.
I poured some wine into the cup and sipped from it. I already took off my robe, leaving my loose pants hanging.
"I should go see Daphne" I said.
"Are you ready to send her away?" Castro asked.
"Yes... I mean, no. I want to, but on the other hand. I can't. What's her relationship with Artur?"
"They were friends ever since she arrived into the palace, so I heard. But, Artur went far by forcing himself on her. So, she didn't want to be friends anymore" Castro explained. I know he'll always have the full story.
"You're my Beta. Tell me, what should I do?"
"It's up to you your majesty. If you want to let her go, or you want her here"
I scoffed and gently placed my cup on the table. We should see her. At the mention of her name, I get reminded of that night. If she can't be here as my maid, she should be here as my s*x slave. Her body is fit for the job.
.
Few minutes later, we got to Daphne's quarters. Castro knocked the door and she opened it. She was asleep. We could see it on her face.
"Oh, little Daphne. You aren't doing your job well as my maid"
"Please, your majesty. Let me just leave" she said.
"Is that a way to greet the king?" I asked, grabbing her hair.
"My apologies, my king. I beg you, let me leave" she cried. Okay, she was serious. I let go of her.
I remembered seeing her crying as she ran out of Gatlin mansion earlier. That's the richest family, after the royal family. That's also my mate to be family. Since Ivy is not my mate, I should tell them so they will stop sending gifts here every single day.
"Did you meet with your father?" I asked, trying to be nice.
"He's not my father. He's just some stranger who saved me" she replied, wiping the tears off her cheek.
"You don't have any family. You should stay with me then"
"I'm not your mate, my king. I was rejected by you. The moon goddess will grant you another chance, I pray" she said. I pull her dress down and saw the mark on her shoulder.
"What about that?" I asked, referring to the mark.
"It's nothing. It's just a bite" she said and covered the mark. Her eyes were different. She looked angry and sad at the same time.
"I see. Well, suit yourself. Do whatever you want. If you wish to leave, be my guest" I said and walked away. I do not care about her. I was trying to be nice but, she doesn't deserve my sympathy. I should deal with her, that way, she'll have more respect and fear for me.
A guard came and whispered something into Castro's ear. He nodded his head and the guard left.
"What is it?" I asked, looking at him over my shoulder.
"The town head is here to see you, your majesty" Castro said.
I scoffed and changed direction. I was no longer heading to my chamber, but the throne room.
I got there and I saw the town head with two other people. The poor man was scared of coming alone, thinking I'll kill him. People are already starting to fear me. Well, this is not when it started. It's an old short story of how I accidentally killed the former town head.
"Your...your majesty!" He stammered and bowed his head till it touched the ground.
"What do you have to tell me?" I asked, leaning on the throne.
"Your majesty, the people are worried. They are scared that the dragon might attack again. Even the children are crying" he said.
"Where are you getting to?"
"They await your orders to catch the dragon"
"What if it's not a real dragon?" I asked, in a whisper.
He bowed. There was silence in the throne room for some seconds before an idea dropped in my head. I knew I was smart the moment I came out from my mother's womb.
"This is a message from the king, anyone who catches the dragon alive or dead will get a wish granted by his majesty" I said.
My three guests raised their head and gave me a 'what the heck' look.
"Make sure every person get the news. It's the full moon tomorrow, everyone should be careful. The dragon is still out there!" I said.
They bowed and rushed out. I smirked and sighed.
"What if they ask for something you can't grant?" Castro asked.
"Can a person catch a dragon? There's no granting of wish Castro. Learn to be as smart as me" I touched his head and left. He went after me immediately.
"I need some ladies from the brothel parlour" I said.
"It was burnt by the dragon" Castro said.
I gave a fake gasp.
"Are my girls okay?" I asked.
"Yes, they are" Castro said. I felt the annoyance in his voice, so I decided not to say anymore word.
Just then, a maid walked pass me with some clothes. She looked very happy. I froze and turned to her.
"Stop there!" I yelled. The guards following me behind stopped her. She went on her knees and dropped the clothes on the floor.
"Your majesty!" She cried. I squatted and picked the clothes. I sniffed it and exhaled deeply. These clothes belong to... Daphne.
"Why are you with Daphne's clothes?" I asked the maid.
"My king, Daphne... She left the palace" she stuttered. I sprung up. I immediately ran to her room. It was indeed empty. It was just Artur there, picking up the litters on the floor. He glared hard at me as if it's my fault that she left.
"Why is she gone?!" I screamed.
"I thought you wanted her to leave?" Castro asked.
I shot him a hard glance.
"Well, I lied. I want her back!" I screamed.
