32The sun streamed through his bedroom window when at last he rolled out of bed. Sunday, almost noon. Cursing loudly, he ran into the bathroom to swill his face and brush his teeth. Noon – how could he let himself sleep for so long? He took the stairs at a run, switching on the kettle, slicing up some bread to put under the grill. Already he had the textbook open. It was going to be a very long and a very boring day. He was correct in his assumptions. He tried his very best but the words from the textbook refused to sink into his brain.
