Alaska
Looking out of her bedroom window on the top floor of her family's pack house, Alaska Terin, focused hard a few members of her pack spending their free time training. She wished she could go out there and kick their asses, well she could, but with them having already turned and her still human with no hopes of ever turning, she didn't stand a chance. While she wished she could kick their asses, all she really wants is to turn, to learn to fight the way they do, with strength and power and the special skills that come along with being a werewolf. Instead, she is human, she has to train and work harder than anyone in her pack, to live up to her family name. She is apart of the Terin Moon Blood pack. Their practically known as werewolf royalty. All packs look up to them and learn from them. Alaska's father is the Alpha of the Terin Moon Blood pack and she is the alpha's daughter, human daughter.
All where wolves turn on their 16th birthday but Alaska's birthday came and went, and now she's almost 18. The age where you find your mate. She's scared that since she hasn't turned she won't find her mate, but she hope she does. At least then she'll get something out of being a werewolf that can't turn. If she finds her mate, she'll have someone who will love her just the way she is. And that's all she wants whether she turns or not.
"Alaska!"
"Yes Mom?!"
"Your father wants you in his office!"
"Okay!"
Alaska gets pulled from her thoughts and takes one more look at the pack members training, then turns on her heel to go see what her father wants. She knocks on the door to her fathers office.
"Come in!"
"Hey Dad, Mom said you needed me."
"Yes, have a seat."
"Okay? Why do I get the feeling I'm In trouble?"
Her father laughed as she sat down.
"Your not in trouble, actually the opposite. I've just noticed lately that you've spent extra time training, but I didn't see you out there today. I wanted to ask you something."
"Yeah, I just didn't feel up for it today. What'd you wanna ask me?"
"Alpha Remus, Alpha of the Winter Moon Pack, is sending one of his wolves to stay with us for awhile," he paused.
"Okay? For training?, asked Alaska.
"Yes he will continue his training while he stays here, but that's not why there sending him," he took a deep breath.
"Well why are they sending him? You seem to be taking your time to spill that information."
"Well once I tell you, you'll understand my hesitation."
"Okay, tell me then."
"His name is Kaiden Murphey. He just turned 18 last week and he...," Alaska's father paused again.
"And he what Dad? Tell me."
"He hasn't turned. He's just like you Alaska, but since he tuned 18 he's been acting different. Alpha Remus said he can't sleep and barely eats. He thinks that turning 18 without his wolf is affecting him. Kaiden described it as a strange feeling in the back of his head where his wolf should be. Like the presence of it is there but not completely."
"Why are they bringing him here?," Alaska finally spoke, trying to get her mind focused on what her father had just said.
"Me and Alpha Remus thought it might be best to keep y'all together and to find out what's happening to the both of you. Kaiden said he would stay here since he doesn't have any family there anyway."
"Alright, when will he be here?"
"He will arrive late tonight. You can meet him in the morning. Until then, go takes some time to process, I'll wake you in the morning."
"No it's okay. I wanna sleep in, take some time to process like you said. I'll be okay Dad."
Alaska rose from her chair and headed to the door.
"Alaska, this is a good thing you know. Whatever happens to him, we can expect it from you too. We can be prepared."
"There is no preparing for this Dad. No one knows what to expect. Me and him could be different. What happens to him might not happen to me, or worse could happen."
Alaska walked out and closed the door behind herself. Instead of going to her room, she went to her secret spot out in the forest behind the pack house. She needed time to think. Time to spend alone before her whole life changes in the coming morning.
Alaska finally made it back to her room once it became dark. She laid down in bed and let sleep take over. In the morning things would be different.
