The Pleasure Palace was the most elite Tea Pavilions of all the entertainment pleasure houses in Huangluo the Capital City of Great Bei, Empire of the East. It was visited by the richest and most influential names in the entire empire.Nobles, officials, rich foreign merchants, scholars, warriors and mystics visited the Pleasure Palace because of the large variety it offered. The pleasure palace rose like a mirage—domed ceilings painted with celestial scenes, walls inlaid with mother-of-pearl, and corridors that whispered secrets with every step.Golden chandeliers dripped with crystal, casting beautiful lights in the day and shimmering moonlight at night . Each room and hall was thick with imported incense—oud, myrrh, and crushed rose petals. At every hour there was a low hum of stringed instruments performing fine music in rooms.

Every year on the Night of the Golden Phoenix, Pleasure Palace does an annual auction. The event was always attended by the rich, famous and powerful to collect rare, iconic and beautiful treasures, medicinal herbs and new technologies. This year there was an added item a Courtesan Auction where celestially beautiful, talented and extraordinary courtesans were to be auctioned.

Tonight in the clandestine and opulently decorated grand hall was a curated gathering of the Empire's most powerful men and women.

Tiered balconies lined in velvet and gold overlooked the central atrium. Each private box was enclosed by sheer curtains, allowing its occupant to see without being seen

Each guest was attended by a silent valet, trained to anticipate needs before they were spoken.

Discreet but ever-present, guards in tailored black stood at attention, their eyes scanning for the slightest breach of protocol.

It was the beginning of the Courtesan Auction as each maiden came out and were sold off to new masters then the Auctioneer announced the last Courtesan of the night, as the saying goes the best for last

At the stroke of midnight, the music shifted. A raised dais of black lacquer rose slowly from beneath the marble floor, revealing her seated on a throne of obsidian and silk, bathed in a single shaft of golden light

She wore a gown spun from starlight—barely there, yet impossibly elegant. Jewels traced the curve of her collarbone like constellations. Her face half covered in an ethereal silver veil. Her eyes the color of emerald stones with streaks of blue. Her hair fell like water waves in a stunning new color platinum blonde with streaks of chestnut brown.

She did not smile. She did not need to. Her gaze swept the room like a monarch surveying her court. Around her the Empire's Elite and nobles were instantly captivated. She was a foreign woman with such breathtaking beauty and celestial look like none seen before.Dressed in midnight blue, the auctioneer stood at a gilded podium, his voice smooth as aged wine. He was both master of ceremonies and keeper of secrets.

There were no paddles. Bidders signaled with subtle gestures—a raised ringed finger, a tilt of the glass, a flick of the fan. The auctioneer saw all,he began the bid.

“We begin at one silver yuanbao.”

A fan flicked open in the eastern balcony. The first bid.

“Two,” came the whisper from the north—no voice, just a servant’s nod.

A gloved hand lifted a jade token. “Three.”

The bidding climbed like a slow-burning fire. Four. Five. Six. Each gesture more subtle than the last. But the Elites were eccentric and no one was willing to back down it continued going and at Thirty silver yuanbao the bidding stopped there was tension in the atmosphere and the bidders were talking to aids and servants for what to do. In that span a voice like silk sounded from one of the VVIP Chambers.

" Two gold yuanbao"

It didn't need to be shouted the velvety voice cut through the event like lightening as heads turned and mouths dropped. The courtesans gaze that had been uncaring flickered and looked towards the direction of the voice.

The voice continued

"As for her own possession and dowry"

" A vineyard in the southern hills for her lips"

" A silk plantation in the east for her fair skin"

" A stable of Rome's horses for her breasts"

" A collection of Jade and precious stones for her fertility"

" And a white peony for the day she chooses to forget me" he added lastly

When the final bid was cast, the room fell silent. The auctioneer bowed.

Everyone present was visibly shaken. Her price was equal to that of the current Empress and her price could build two luxurious estates. After a nod from the Auctioneer the female attendants led the courtesan like a precious jewel to the winner. She walked like a goddess and bowed at the chamber. A beautiful hand holding a red lacquer reached out towards her she kissed his jade ring and stepped inside the private chamber.

She had been taught to never look at the master but curiosity was gnawing at her to take a look at the man who dared to spend such a fortune on a mere courtesan like her. She might be a maiden but still

The Dawn of The Fallen Marquis
The sun had barely risen over the ochre dunes when the order was given in the opulent hall of the Jannat al-Kubra of the Grand Celestial City. The Emperor had just read the investigative report accusing The Grand Marquis of Nahraya of sedition and intention to topple his government. The Emperor raged with anger he had always been wary of the Powerful Grand Marquis Al-Nasir and had been looking for a way to reduce his autonomy and power. Unlike other officials who were either elected or conferred titles the powerful position of Grand Marquis was also a hereditary royal bloodline with dangerous power and was second only to the Emperor. Emperor Al-Mutalaq always felt threatened by Grand Marquis Al-Nasir.The Marquis was loved by the people and controlled the richest city Nahraya. He was the Lord of the borders in the Emirate. The Emperor always feared the Marquis so today this very detailed investigative report that took over a year of gathering information was all he needed to crush the Lion before he could crush him. Emperor Al- Mutalaq believed it showed proof of his tyranny. In a fit of paranoia and obsession to keep his throne he gave an order to execute the Grand Marquis and his entire family before dusk. The Lord of Grand Celestial City Al-Sayyid was reluctant to carry out the order because he knew that the Marquis should be given a chance to proof himself innocent of the accusations. Besides he was an honest and powerful man and killing him could anger the people and cause an imbalance in the Emirate. So he tried to reason with the Emperor but what he got in return was an accusation by the Emperor of siding with Marquis Al-Nasir. " Grand Vizier Al-Wazim" The Emperor called to his Most trusted adviser "Since the Lord of Celestial City wouldn't fight to keep the sacredness of the Emperor how about we imprison him for sometime and you carry out this righteous act" the Emperor commanded. The officials who were present all shrank in fear. The Lord of the Celestial City was one of the most respected persons by the Emperor so for him to be upset with him for challenging him enough to have him imprisoned then indeed no one could save the Grand Marquis of Nahraya. " Your Highness please give the Marquis a chance to prove himself" Lord Abu-baker pleaded " Take the Lord away to reflect on himself" the Emperor Al Mutalaq commanded. The Commander of the Crescent the Imperial army whose only loyalty lies with the Emperor stepped forward and bowed to the Lord. "Please come with me Lord Abu-baker" Lord Abu-baker kept pleading but was dragged away. Once he was outside the Court,he grabbed his aide who had been standing outside and whispered to him. "Warn the Grand Marquis". Immediately the Emperor stamped the order and handed it over to the Grand Vizier, who in turn took with him the Elite Royal guards to go perform the execution. They rode on chariots of horses towards the City of Nahraya The Grand Marquis had received the tip before the arrival of the Grand Vizier. His heart was heavy and he couldn't even think properly. If it was another Official he could have helped him and taken his case to the Royal Court but now that it was him the second in command he couldn't turn to anyone for help.So before they arrived he took his favorite daughter the last of his daughters and his last son and gave them to his trusted friend Fazid to elope with them. The Grand Vizier, cloaked in crimson and gold, stood atop the marble dais of judgment. His voice, cold and unyielding, echoed through the palace square: He held the black banner made of silk that fluttered in the wind. The mark of royal condemnation. Now the entire family of Al-Nasir knelt in the grand courtyard of the sanctuary ready to receive Royal decree. "By decree of the Emirate, the House of Al-Nasir is found guilty of sedition. Let none of their blood remain to poison the realm." His words were iron. Final.Once those words came out there was an echo of screams from everyone around. Guards in black lamellar armor surged forward like a tide of steel. The gates of the palace were sealed. No one in. No one out. Servants screamed and scattered like birds before a storm. The scent of rosewater and incense was drowned by the stench of fear and blood. The Marquis of Al-Nasir, once a lion among men, stood tall even as chains bit into his wrists. His wives, sons and daughters—draped in silks laid dead around him. He closed his eyes and all he could hear was the sound of blades and the screams of his family and servants. The most painful thing to happen to any man. Peacocks shrieked in the gardens. Horses reared in their stables, sensing the madness in the air. The great mosaic dome of the palace, once a marvel of turquoise and gold, now loomed like a tombstone over the dynasty it had crowned. Blood ran down the marble steps like spilled wine. By virtue of the law the Marquis was not to be killed by the sword as he was a man of Power,Honor and Noble Blood so he and his two eldest sons were served the death cup. A lethal poison so potent no man could survive it no matter the antidote or the person's resistance. The Marquis took the poison in silent resignation along with his sons he bowed his head before he finally gave up the ghost but something remarkable happened, even in his death he didn't fall down he remained standing like the man of glory and grace that he was. The Grand Vizier who had served him the cup held his hand and in that instance though he had always envied and hated the Grand Marquis felt intense respect for him. He kissed his hand and carefully laid him on the velvet robe prepared for a Royals death. It was then he noticed the Signet ring of his finger was missing so was his turban and jade emblem. The Vizier feared for the worst and asked his men "Search the bodies are all his sons and daughters here" The royal guards searched and found everyone complete but what they didn't know was that the two youngest children had been saved. No one knew of their existence since they hadn't been debuted to the society yet. The Marquis was a man of mystery and kept his family as safe as he could. "All 30 members are here and 200 servants, guards, aides and slaves" the Chief warrior replied The Grand Vizier nodded although he still felt uneasy. But he assured himself since they had thoroughly investigated and they were only 30 members. In a chariot at a far distance from Nahraya was Fazid, the now Late Marquis most trusted friend. There were two children at the back sleeping peacefully. They were the youngest son 14 year old Farid and youngest daughter 16year old Zara. The two weren't even aware of what had happened back at home. Their personal servant Umaimah had been weeping since the journey. "Stop crying woman you'll wake up the children" Fazid said. But she couldn't stop, the entire Al-Nasir family had been annihilated and now the only survivors were these young teenagers. Fazid rode the chariot like a man blinded by sadness. "The children aren't safe in the entire Emirate if I'm not wrong they might come searching for survivors I'll send you off with the Young Marquis to the Western kingdoms and the young mistress to the East." he instructed to Umaimah.
