The Blue Moon Wolf

"Ada! Honey? Where are you?" I called to my 10 year old pup on the mid afternoon summer day. The breeze was blowing and the warm sun was shining bright. "Adaline Rose! You better show yourself before I call your father!" I looked around trying to find her, then I finally see her coming through the tree line. "Here I am mommy!!!! I had to get my ball." She told me with her big puppy dog eyes. I looked down at her and smiled then chuckled. "Come dear your father is waiting for us." I held me hand out for her to take. She happily took it. As soon as we started heading up to the pack house I sensed something was off. Everything went quite so suddenly. I turned towards the tree line again and I saw five rouges walk out. Only two were in human form and the others in wolf form. I know I wasn't strong enough to protect both of us but I knew I could hold them back while she ran. I grabbed her arms and got down to her level, "run and get help Ada. Mommy loves you very much. Now go!" I gave her one last hug and kiss before I pushed her towards the door then shifted instantly. I was challenged by all the males to stand down but I stood my ground. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a women running to the back entrance where my pup just went. No! I screamed at my wolf because, this she wolf was going after my pup. I couldn't let that happen. I took a couple steps then lunged at the women. I grabbed her by the neck and sank my teeth in. I did a quick jerk of my head and her went limp in my mouth and I dropped her. Right after I dropped her I got slammed into the wall from one of the males. I looked quickly and saw my pup standing terrified with look of horror on her face. I looked at the rest of them and they were getting closer with every passing second. I linked my mate quickly and got no answer from him. I guess I'm on my own then. They were snarling and nipping at my heels. I looked back andsaw my pup was safely with Leo our Beta. She would be safe with him. I yelped in pain as one latched onto my shoulder and tried to take me downbut I used my back paws to get him on his underbelly. I had no choice but to fight. I got up with all of my strength and I was throwing the wolves as much as I could. As they kept biting me I felt weaker and weaker. I stumbled backwards shaking my head.Something was wrong with my wolf Atlanta, I couldn't get in touch with her. "Mommy noooooo!" Was all I heard when I looked up and saw my pup with a red faceand tears streaming down her face. They took this chance to grab me by the throat. It looks like I might as well be meeting the moon goddess today, at least I saw my pup one last time.
