A New Life

I can't believe it's already been a year since I've been reborn into this world. I haven't learned much about magic in this world yet but I've been able to preform a few spells so far the first one I put a curse on myself to not be able to speak mainly for the reason I don't accidentally say something to make people suspicious of my past life. anothough that has been rather tough on my parents they began worrying about my lack of speech when I turned 9 months old and took me to get looked at the doctor didn't see anything wrong so they kept looking into it and finally realized that I wad cursed. When they realized it really broke their hearts, I did feel kind of bad, but its safer for everyone that way. My siblings were pretty upset according to them you can't use magic without chats, which is true for most people but I don't need chats for my magic, but they don't need to know that its better no one knows about my magic capability. Today is my first birthday. Everyone is talking about bringing me to the magic event in the town. Square, I am excited to see how everyone's magic measures up.

"Selena! wake up, it's time to start getting ready!" My sister bursts through my bedroom door.

Even though I've been cursed, my family never treated me differently, which is nice. I do really enjoy my life with them, although once I've learned some more magic, I plan on going a guild and adventuring on my own.

"Are you getting her ready, Sarahfena?" My mother said while walking into the room.

"Yes, we are almost done. im just brushing her hair now. "

I didn't even notice that she had changed me man she is quick. This light blue dress matches my eyes. My hair has gotten long. it's touching my shoulders now. sister is always so gental brushing my hair it feels so nice. apparently, we are meeting mom and dad's friends and sitting with them to watch the show. I can't wait to see it all, but I am even more excited to sneak out of my room later to explore the library.

It took about an hour to get to the center of town we road in a dark blue carriage with gold engravings brother and sister kept fighting over who was going to walk with me during the event. halfway through the ride, mom had enough and told them they could both walk with me, which made them seddle down. We exited the carriage close to the collusme father's friends were waiting for us to walk together.

"Hello, this must be selena. It's a pleasure to meet you. " a well dressed man with light blond hair graying in spots and green eyes. Standing next to him was a beautiful woman her hair was pure white like silk, and her eyes were a golden brown. Standing between them was a boy around my siblings age he had his mother's golden eyes and his father's light blond hair, a striking resemblance of both his mother and father.

"Selena, this is my friend from childhood and also happens to be the king."

My father said to me with a smile.

To be honest, I knew there were king and queens due to our status, but I would have never imagined they would be friends with my parents. I looked up at them and bowed my head,

and gave a perfect curtsy.

"Well, isn't she just precious." the queen said with a bright smile while clapping her hands together.

"Yes, she is. I am not sure where she leaned that from, though none of us have taught her." my mother said while giving me a cerious look.

I hope I didn't mess up. I gave my sister a nervous smile.

"Mom, don't worry about it she's always blowing us away with how smart she is, and she is only one. I can't wait to see how she grows up." Sister said while squeezing my hand.

Big sis to the resuce again.

"Hello, little princess, my name is Lucas. It's a pleasure to meet you." The little boy between the king and queen said and gave me a little bow.

I just gave him a small smile and looked up at my big sister.

"She is pleased to meet you, Lucas, but she can't speak."

"OH really, how come?" What a silly boy you don't ask questions like that out of the blue.

"Son, you don't ask personal questions like that first meeting someone." Go, King, thanks for the save. But man, that is some glare.

"Shall we go?" the queen said as she turned towards the collusme.

During the walk, the streets were pretty quiet, especially for the events that were supposed to be happening. The houses are beautiful they look like old german houses beautiful, but something seems to be missing. There are no people around. it's too quiet. Looking around, I noticed a few missing persons posters of all different ages. This is something I'll have to look into once I figure out more of my magic. I can feel someone watching us as we walk through the quiet streets.

"Selena, would you like to hold my hand?" Lucas said, stopping everyone.

I looked up at my big sister squeezing her hand hoping she would catch onto my hint that I don't want to sure enough she caught on thankfully I don't need to speak to talk to my big sister.

"Sorry, Prince, but my little sister is a little shy and pretty attached to my brother and I," my sister said with a proud smile.

"Oh, I understand." I don't know why he looks so disappointed he doesn't even know me. And, he distracted me, the person following us disappeared, I need to keep an eye out something about this whole situation feels off. We arrived at the collusme it is huge, and you can feel the aura of magic everywhere. I can't wait to see everyone's magic!
