New Friends

After spending a few hours at the her new home, Amber had gotten accustomed to the layout of the grounds and the people living in the facility. Since Aldolfo left her she hadn't seen him around, and noted that he seemed to be more private than the rest of the werewolves here. Amber sat down at the rounded table, six other people sat around her, all excitedly talking having small side conservations and occasionally coming back to talk as a big group. Amber had hesitantly sat down in between two warrior males that she had just met recently. Mark who after talking to for a few minutes, Amber found out that he had just turned 16 and was born and raised in the Walee pack. His mother and father both of warrior descent, and being an only child he enjoyed his new lifestyle and was a loyal member to the pack. Root was to the left of Amber, he had just turned 15 years old. He was much more intune to his future beast, he seemed to be very spiritual and it brought a certain familiarity that Amber thoroughly enjoyed.  Root was decorated all over his arms with runes and tattoos that he would enscribe into his skin every night before he went to bed, Amber had asked him about their purpose, and he simply stated that they were a "part of him."  There was also two other girls at the facility, Alissar and Crystal who were both the age of 17, they had been in the training facility now for three years and were very calloused and focused on their future. Amber liked talking to the girls, but she seemed to be a little intimidated by them, so she often found herself listening to their conversations but never making any contributions to them.  Across the table sat Edward, that everyone called Eddie, he was 14 and he often kept to himself listening to the conversations around the table. Amber was intrigued by Eddie, he was quiet and laid back. But she noticed a certain dark aurora to him, that made Amber curious about him. He would consistently look around the room, his bright crystal blue eyes scanning the room occasionally, glancing over his shoulder almost like he sensed something watching over him. Eddie seemed to be the fitting image of a typical "warrior" that Crystal called their class, he was quite tall for his age, very stocky and had a dense amount of muscle for 14 years of age. Amber could smell Eddie's strong potent smell from across the table, a mix between earthy driftwood and something that pranced across her nostrils that she just couldn't place.  When Eddie spoke, Amber caught herself starring at him. His aurora itself making her daze.  "Alright! It's probably about time we start cleaning up the place before we start for dinner," Phillip stated as he pushed back his chair next to Crystal and Eddie and sat up from the table.  Phillip was Aldolfo's right hand man, he was the main individual who watched after the children's health and made sure everyone did as they were told. He appeared to be the kind of leader that was more a friend than an actual supervisor. Phillip had angular cheekbones, with tussled long hair that stopped at his shoulders. He was tall and very lean, his left wrist had a small light blue rope bracelet. Amber noticed it as he began to pick up cups that the students left behind, she noted it in her mind and wondered why he had it.  Quietly Amber followed suit with the others, pushing in their chairs and cleaning up the table. Shortly after they all dispersed into their own areas to finish up whatever they had to do before dinner. Amber had been the talk of the night, and walking back to her room she began to feel the familiar feeling of being overwhelmed. She wasn't able to answer a lot of the questions her friends had for her, because she herself could not remember anything that happened before she was in the interrogation room. The others however, could not take "I don't remember" as an answer and often pushed Amber for more questions and answers. She continued to walk  down the hallway, her thoughts completely clouding her mind. She rounded the corner to their room, when something grabbed her shoulders gently and pinned her against the wall.  Amber got quickly pinned against the wall right behind the hallway located in the shade of the lights overhead. A strong hand over her mouth as her eyes struggled to adjust. When they finally did, her shoulders sagged a little in relief. Eddie, held her against the wall his head looking over his shoulder wildly. He gently removed his hand from her mouth, and looked into her eyes.  "Where are you from, really?" He asked, his voice rough yet smooth like leather.  "What?" Amber asked, leaning closer. Why had he brought her to the side to ask her this? "W-what do you mean- is this really necessary?" She asked gesturing to him hiding in the shadows of the hallway.  "I-I'm sorry" Eddie released his grip on her, and they both blew out a sigh of relief. A breath that Amber didn't know he was holding.  "I told you I can't remember where I came from I ju-" Amber started to say before Eddie interrupted her again.  "I know, I know. You told us this. But you can't be from around here." He stated, looking over his shoulder again as he heard voices from down the hallway talking. "You don't look or act like the others." He stated dryly.  Amber sighed, "It's my first day here, of course I don-"  "No!" Eddie exclaimed quietly, "I mean you don't seem like a warrior class..." he hesitated, looking her up and down. "You aren't shy or nervous, you aren't built like a warrior, you seem weak-" "Hey!" Amber exclaimed now getting frustrated with his antics. "I get it." Eddie backed away from Amber, "So what is it then?"  Amber watched his eyes focus on hers, he was waiting for her to respond. He looked like he was becoming more frustrated with her as time progressed. His smell overwhelming to her.  "I don't know what you want from me." She stated dryly, swallowing the lump in her throat.  Eddie looked at Amber, "how does someone not remember how they got here? Dad would not bring just anyone to the pack." He looked away, now deep in thought.  Amber's ears rung. "Dad?" She mimicked, her gaze questioning drawing the attention back from Eddie. "Your Dad is the Alpha?" Suddenly his familiar eyes, and set cheek bones blended with that of his fathers. The aurora to him was similar to that of his Dad's, it was dark and powerful in nature. "I guess I should be asking, what are YOU doing here?" Eddie tilted his head to the side, "what do you mean?" he asked cautiously.  "Why would the Alpha's son be training with the warrior class?" She asked quietly. "Wouldn't he be training you by himself?"  Eddie's face suddenly became clouded, his expression dark. "Dad saw more potential in me for training here than with him at the office." His voice spat.  Amber felt a pang of guilty feelings toward Eddie and his complicated relationship with his father. She began to comfort him when his face became even darker than before, his aurora changing to that of anger. His eyes quickly looked down at hers, before his face twisted up in a grimace "You don't belong here." He spat, before removing himself from the tension filled bubble he created with Amber. Walking away quickly in the opposite direction of the girls room.  Amber watched him leave, his bitter words ringing in her ears. She didn't understand what had just happened or why Eddie had become so negative towards her. She sighed and rubbed her face with her hands, just as Crystal walked by her.  Crystal smiled at Amber warmly before noticing the lines in her face created by stress, "Come on kiddo," she grabbed Amber's hand "lets make some dinner and get you to relax a little." Turning quietly Crystal gently dragged Amber down the hallway to the Kitchen. Crystals sneakers making soft pitter noises against the marble floors, and her light sandy brown bob moved with every step she made.  Amber sighed internally, exhaustion creeping up on her quicker. She made it her goal from there out to try and attempt to peice her life back together, even if it killed her.
