*3rd person pov*
"What just happened?" Aria spoke is disbelief.
"Well, you met the King, he asked you questions, you got pardoned for breaking his ultimate law, then he told us to walk back to the pack. You were just there, how do you not remember?" Luka actually explained to her what happened... hes either incredibly sarcastic or incredibly ditsy. She hope he's ditsy so it isn't just her. "I know that, I meant why?" Again she was genuinely curious.
"Don't act like you don't know, I could see it a mile off" Luka has a smug look on his face.
"Don't know what?"
"You're mates, that's why you were pardoned and that's why he's bringing you back"
"Oh please, how is a rogue the mate to a Alpha King? It's complete nonsence"
"You're not just a rogue Aria, you're special, rare" Luka was hurt that she just saw herself as a rogue.
They walked in silence for a little while, not an uncomfortable silence but a peaceful one.
"Luka?" Aria suddenly got nervous for what she was about to ask.
"Yep?" He answered popping the 'P' at the end.
"How could you mind link me? There's only two ways to mind link. One way is being apart of the same pack which we obviously are not. And the second is being...well...." she couldn't bring herself to say it as it's too ridiculous.
"Family?" So he said it for her. He could feels the nerves radiating off her. "Like I said we have a lot of catching up to do. Luckily for us we have a but of a walk ahead"
"Does that mean we are family? If so, how? Why have we never met?" She has so many questions, she doesn't believe one walk will be long enough.
"Well Aria we have met, it was many many years ago and you were only a pup when we did meet and still a pup when we stopped visiting each other. It wasn't safe for us all to be in one place" Aria looked at him as he spoke, he seemed to be holding pain in his eyes but attempting to hide it. "How much did you know about your mother?" He looked down at the girl he once knew as a happy vibrant pup, now she's looks scared, broken, hiding her true self or even worse... forgotten her true self.
"My...my mother?" Aria stopped in her tracks, looking up at the man she felt so close to yet so far from. "She was the most beautiful, kind, understanding woman to walk this earth. She was beta at my old pack, who loved every single member dearly" her eyes begun to form puddles, Its been years since she spoke out loud about her mother.
"Aria there's so much you don't know, I want to tell you everything and I will but now isn't the time. I will tell you this however, we don't just share unique wolves, we do in fact share the same blood, the same soul" he looked proud when he spoke these words to her. "Aria, I'm your half brother from our mother".
"What? No that's not possible, my mother would never have cheated on my father. My father was my mother's world, she lived for him, her life was lived for him, she would never betray him or hurt him that way or lied to him. My father thanked the moon goddess every single morning because he KNEW how perfect she was. My mother was the most loyal and honest person I had ever met. You're lying" Aria broke into tears and didn't try hiding them from Luka "you have to be lying". Her mother wouldn't do such a thing to her father, would she?
"Aria our mother wasn't a cheater or a traitor to your father" he tried calling her down, this is the reaction he was scared of. "Our mother had 2 mates, your father and mine. They knew of each other, they were happy to be her mates and it hurt all of them that they had to be separated but they wanted to keep us safe too." He tried explain to her, hoping she was taking this in.
"Sperate? If what you are saying is true why would they separate. Why would my...Our mother leave one mate to be with another. You can't just leave your mate... wait. The weeks she went away on work trips." Is it possible?
"She came here, to be with me and my father. A wolf could only go so long without being close to their mate and a mother can only be away from her pup for so long. It broke her heart when she had to leave us, it broke mine too. I was old enough to know she was leaving, I was old enough to know she's had another family, another mate, I was old enough to know it pained her that we couldn't all be together but i never understood why till the day she left this earth. Till she visited me before finding her peace" Luka could also feel tears staining his cheeks.
*Flashback*
"Luka darling?" He heard his mother sweet voice calling him from outside. The young boys heart would beam with joy every time he heard it. It's been a few weeks now since he had saw her, heard her voice, felt her embrace. He threw down his little army soldiers, running his down the corridor, sliding along the stair banister, finally having his mother in his sights. He leaped into her arms, finally feeling complete again.
"Mother I've missed you so so much, please tell me you're staying this time, please" he kept his small arms wrapped around his mother's neck, scared if he let go she would disappear again.
"I'm here for a few weeks my sweet boy but them I'm afraid I have to leave again for a little while but I promise to always return to you" she looked at her son with so much pride, how could one little boy bring so much happiness to someone's heart.
"But mother I miss Aria and Marcus, why can't they just come live with us" he pouted at his mother hoping she would cave.
"That's enough Luka, your mother and I have already explained this 100 times. We'll all be together again soon when the time is right" the young boys father spoke as he walked into the house carrying his mother's bags. He hated seeing the bags because it just reminded him it was temporary, that soon enough he would be going without his mother's embrace, her singing him lullabies before sleep consumed him, her smile as the pack came together to simply share a meal. He hated his mother leaving, but he loved her dearly enough to wait for the day she would be home forever.
*End of flackback*
"Luka I don't understand, what's this big secret about our mother. I have the right to know" Aria was scared to know the truth but she had too, she didn't want any negative thoughts about her mother. 2 mates? 2 families? 2 separate lives? This sounds nothing like her mother yet she believed every word that came out of his mouth, yes she questioned him but strangely enough she believed him.
"Aria..." He was nervous, he knew this would change her world.
"Luka?" She was nervous, she could feel her heart slowing.
"Our mother is the Moon Goddess"
