Chapter 6

Isabella’s POV

“I, Alpha King Vincent Miller…..” he started speaking and panic clouded my mind. Tears welled up in my eyes because of fear and slight pain which aroused in my chest.

“Reject you Isabella Jones…..” I couldn’t think properly and without realizing what I am doing, I placed my palm on his mouth, stopping him from uttering the words which will kill me.

His eyes widened due to shock.

“Just give me two months, please….” I requested again. I really don’t want to die.

But suddenly the door of the room opened and I heard Luna Sophia’s voice,

“Vincent… how much more tim……”

I saw panic flashed in Alpha King’s eyes. I was about to move back but before I could do that, he pushed me away harshly which made me stumble a little and I fell down on the floor.

Luna Sophia’s words died down in her throat when her gaze fell on my figure on the floor and she asked in shock with her eyes filled with surprise,

“Wh…what is going on here?”

“oh….. she tripped” Alpha King said while walking towards her.

“Are you okay?” Luna Sophia asked me in concern.

“Hmm, I am fine” I said getting on my feet. My wrist is hurting a lot. I guess I sprained it.

“You should be careful about your actions next time” I heard Alpha King say, threateningly. His eyes, they are glaring at me.

Not able to look at him anymore, I looked down and said, “I am sorry, I will be careful”.

“Go wait outside” Luna Sophia commanded. I bowed my head and headed towards the door.

“She seems clumsy, how is she going to protect me?” I heard Sophia say to Alpha King.

“Don’t worry, I will talk with Sebastian” he answered.

I walked away from his office. I was planning to wait in the living room. I could climb down just two stairs when a sharp pain jolted through my chest.

I knew instantly what Alpha King and Luna Sophia are doing.

I tried fighting the pain and continued walking down. But only after two more steps, another wave of pain hit hard.

My vision blurred and I missed a step. I was about to fall down when two arms held me by my arms, saving me.

I looked up to come across gentle pair of gray orbs staring at me in concern.

“Are you okay?” he asked me. And the events of yesterday came rushing to my mind. He had saved me yesterday as well.

“its you again. Thank….” I stopped talking as a whimper escaped from my lips when the pain increased even more.

“what happened?” Aron asked me as he helped me in sitting down on the stair and crouched down in front of me.

I forced a smile and said, “nothing, I am fine”

“But you don’t look too fine to me” he raised a hand and wiped a tear which rolled down from my eyes.

“Let me take you to pack hospital” he added. I can see genuine concern in his eyes for me.

I have to fight this pain. I can’t cry every time they do something with each other.

The pain I was feeling subsided and I took a breath of relief.

“I am fine, really. It’s just… I tripped in Alpha King’s office a while ago. It was embarrassing and I sprained my wrist a little. But after some time, it will heal” I lied while rubbing my right wrist.

I feel bad for lying to someone who is helping me. But I can’t tell him the truth. I am sure Alpha King doesn’t want anyone to find out that I am his mate. And truthfully speaking, even I don’t want others to know about it.

I know how everyone is going to look at me, either with hatred or pity. I just want a peaceful life so it would be better if no one find out about us.

Aron held my hand gently and rubbed my wrist softly.

“Is it hurting a lot?” he questioned. His concerned gaze is fixed on my wrist.

He reminded me of Damien. He was the only one who used to get worried about me like this. I miss him a lot.

“no, it’s healed already” I replied. He looked up at me and smiled, “its good then. But still get it checked when you are free. We, warriors need to be healthy first if we are going to protect others” he said.

He is right. So I nodded my head.

We heard sound of throat clearing and looked up to see Alpha King and Luna Sophia standing there at the top of the stairs.

I noticed Alpha King's eyes have turned a shade darker. I followed his gaze to find him looking at my hand which is held by Aron.

I pulled my hand out of his grip instantly. Aron and I stood up.

“I think you were hired go protect Sophia, not to w***e around with my bodyguard” Alpha King said. His voice is dripping with venom.

Anger surged inside me at his words. My jaw clenched and hands curled into fists.

“how is holding hand and helping others is consider as w*****g around?” I questioned. My tone was polite but I am sure one can sense hint of anger in it.

“you will watch your tone while talking with me” Alpha King gritted. His eyes turned even more darker and his jaw is clenching because of anger.

I lowered my eyes but I didn’t offer any apology.

I know any sane person would have apologized but I won’t. He was wrong and I have all the right to fight for my dignity.

The air around us turned heavy. The silence felt suffocating. I know they are waiting for me to apologize but I didn’t utter even a single word. The atmosphere around us turned even more tense.

“I was just helping her Alpha King.” Aron said, his tone told me that he also didn’t like Alpha King's words but he was very respectful.

“And if you are worried about Bella slacking off or playing around at the time of protecting Luna Sophia, then please rest assure. Bella is a responsible and capable warrior” Aron said in my defense.

His words made warmness to spread inside me.

“I will trust your words Aron” Sophia said with a smile. “then I will leave now” she added and gave him a peck on his lips before walking away.

I bowed my head in front of him before following behind Luna Sophia.

We got inside a car and headed towards mall, which is at around an hour distance.

Another car with four male warriors is following our car.

I leaned my head on the car's window and looked outside. But my mind is filled with many thoughts, and one of them is,

‘How am I going to convince him to not reject me?’

….

It has been hours since we reached the mall but still these women are not done with their shopping. Luna Sophia's friends are also here. I got to know that they are from her previous pack.

I glanced in the direction of other four male warriors who are holding all the begs. Luckily, I don’t have to carry anything. I am just following them from one store to another.

So far nothing suspicious happened and I am very glad about it.

“I am hungry, let’s go and eat something” One of Sophia's friend said. “Yes, I am hungry too” another friend added.

“There is a French restaurant right across from the mall. Vincent took me there once and the food is really very delicious” Sophia said excitedly.

At the mention of food, my stomach grumbled lightly. I haven’t eaten anything since morning and it is already two in the afternoon.

“Okay, lets go” everyone agreed and we headed out of the mall.

“You can put the begs in the car before following us to the restaurant” Luna Sophia said to the male warriors as soon as we got out.

Since the restaurant is right across from the mall, there is no problem in doing that. So they nodded and left to the parking lot, where our cars are parked.

We started walking but suddenly Sophia's phone started ringing, a sweet smile appeared on her face when she read the name of the caller.

“you guys go ahead, I have to answer it first” she said. Her friends gave her a teasing look before crossing the road.

I moved few steps away from her to give her some privacy but I heard her greeting Alpha King.

She talked on the call for about two minutes. All the time a very beautiful smile was plastered on her face. Even her eyes are smiling.

My phone buzzed and I opened it to find a message from Stella. She is asking me about my first day as bodyguard for future Luna queen.

I smiled while typing a reply.

“okay bye, I love you too” I heard Luna Sophia say. I looked up to find her heading towards the restaurant.

I hurriedly typed 'bye' before I placed the phone in my pocket while walking. We entered inside the restaurant. Her friends have already got a private room and were waiting for us near the reception.

They settled in the comfy chairs and I stood beside the door, leaning my back against the wall.

After their food arrived, they started digging in, completely ignoring my presence. My stomach is also begging for food. And this delicious aroma is doing nothing but increase my hunger.

I didn’t know being a personal bodyguard is this boring and difficult. I pulled my phone out started scrolling through it not paying attention to their conversation until I heard something which perked my interest.

“Your mate hasn’t found his second mate yet?” one of her friend asked Sophia.

I didn’t look up from the phone but I was listening. Did he tell her about me?

“No he hasn’t” Sophia replied and took a bite from her plate.

“You should be careful and get a strong grip of Vincent’s heart, otherwise he might leave you for his second mate” another friend said.

Sophia Chuckled at this, “ he will never leave me. I am an Alpha’s daughter, perfect to become his Luna” she said confidently.

“but what if his second mate is also an Alpha and beautiful just like you, then?” The one with red hairs asked.

Sophia fell silent for a moment as if she was thinking about something, and when she answered the question, my heart froze for a second, “then I will have to kill her”.

I would have thought she is lying or just joking around but the dark look on her face, seriousness in her tone and evil glint in her eyes told me that she meant what she said.

Even her friends were shocked for a second.

“Uhm… you are joking right?” the one with brown hair asked with a forced smile.

Sophia smiled as she asked, “will you let your mate get snatched by another woman”?

“No way, I would rather kill that b***h” the woman said. But her tone was more of metaphoric. It didn’t sound like she will actually kill the woman who will snatch her mate.

“See, that’s what I said” Sophia said leaning against the backrest of chair and took a sip of her drink.

“But what if Vincent wants to keep both of you, then what will you do” Someone asked.

“Yes, after all both of you are his mate. He can keep both of you” Red head agreed.

“It is not possible, but if you want to know than I will tell you, I will kill her without Vincent knowing” Sophia answered casually.

Her words are causing fear to crawl in my heart. This woman is very cruel and dangerous, nothing like what I had heard about her in past.

She will kill me.

It is better that I keep my distance from her and Alpha King. I don’t want to die.

After two months when our bond will be broken, then I don’t have to worry about anything.

Just two months, I will have to be careful that no one finds out about me being Alpha King's mate.

“why did you say it is impossible” The brown hairs said.

Luna Sophia leaned forward and said in a low voice,

“Everyone thinks that having two mate is blessing but it is not. Only the royal family members know about it. Even I didn’t know. But one day I overheard Vin talking with his Beta. It is a secret but since you guys are like sister to me I am telling you this but don’t tell anyone about it okay, anyone” Sophia said seriously.

Her words caused everyone to lean forward with curiosity, even I was curious to know what is it that she is going to tell,

“We won’t tell, I promise” red head said and others nodded their head,

“If any Alpha King keeps both of his mate, then it will bring a disaster to the pack…” she said.

I didn’t Know this.

“But… other than pack, it will affect the Alpha King as well. Let’s assume if Vincent doesn’t reject one of his mate and keeps both of us then…..” she added.

And when she uttered her next words my eyes widened and my breath hitched. And the phone I was holding fell down from my hand creating a loud thud gaining their attention,

“then with the death of one of us, he will lose his wolf, forever”
