Headcanon = Elements of a story or character that are not explicitly stated within the original content (so the canon content) but which is either something a fan themselves believes to be true, or which the fanbase at large believes to be true. This can range from shipping two characters who aren’t explicitly involved with each other in the original content to a favourite food of a character based on their personality. Fans can get really enthusiastic about their headcanons.
