Chapter Forty-One His laptop came to life. "George … have to meet … serious … owe me." They sprang apart. The voices coming over the laptop became really staticky, muffled. There wasn't much more audible except for the word oz. Keegan rested his forehead on hers, but she wiggled out from under him, grabbed her jeans, and disappeared into the bathroom. She quickly stripped, turned on the taps, and climbed into the cold shower, welcoming the coolness to tamp down the heat and the embarrassment she was feeling. Dropping her head to the cold tiles under the showerhead, she let the water stream down over her. Ten minutes later, when she was good and chilled and couldn't stand it anymore, she climbed out, only to realize there was no towel. Goosebumps coated her body like a garment. Shiveri
