Few days later, was Patricia's funeral. Nikolai's family and her friends attended. Her father's face was red from sobbing and an older woman held him in comfort. He refused to accept condolence from Nikolai. He sure blamed him for the death of his daughter. We left the cemetery once her coffin was lowered. Nikolai and I went back home while his family went to their respective homes. "What would you like to eat?" I asked Nikolai. "Nothing. I'll like to rest" I nodded and left the room. It was clear he felt sad so I gave him space. I ate and busied myself with books for the rest of the day. That was the pattern for the next month. I was almost ready to pop and Nikolai was able to move around but only for a limited time. His therapy was going well and he was almost fully recovered. I
