Chapter 32An hour after they'd started clearing out the basement, Charlie and Nolan were on the road in Mom's car. The back seat of the maroon Toyota Corolla was crammed with seven boxes, and the trunk held three more. Charlie was determined that those boxes would all be gone by the time she drove home. One way or another, she would leave them at her dad's place...even if her dad didn't know they were coming yet. "So your dad lives twenty minutes away?" Nolan checked the digital dashboard clock when he said it. Charlie cranked the steering wheel left at an intersection. "He and his girlfriend have a house over in Brandenburg.
