Chapter 35Charlie and Nolan didn't say much for the rest of the trip. They mostly sat in the back seat and waited as the car drove them into the night.
At one point, Charlie asked, "Where are they taking us, anyway?"
"I don't know." Nolan shrugged. "They never said."
Charlie made herself look worried, though of the two of them, she was the only one who did know where they were headed. "I hope it's not much farther."
"Not me," said Nolan. "I'm in no hurry."
But it wasn't long before the car came to a stop, and the engine switched off.
"Here we go." Nolan sat back from the door. "Get ready."
