Chapter 22For once, Charlie slept like a baby.
She got home a little after midnight. Mom and Tim were already out cold, so she could go straight to bed without having to stop and talk to anyone.
She didn't even bother to take off her clothes and put on pajamas--just collapsed on top of the covers. As soon as her head hit the pillow, she was out cold.
Instead of waking up in the middle of the night to check her text messages and agonize about Conscience, she slept straight through.
Along the way, she had some great dreams. She dreamed about the big takedown of Gantry and Devon at the game; she also dreamed about being made a full member of Nil at The Bunker.
