Chapter 24Charlie didn't know exactly where the graves were. All she could do was look around for signs of Nolan as Gloria drove slowly through the cemetery.
People were scattered throughout the place, mostly senior citizens visiting graves. Charlie saw gray hair only; no one was even close to Nolan's age.
Eventually, she started thinking they might have come to the wrong place. Watching the rows of tombstones drift past, she wracked her brain trying to figure out where else he might have gone.
Then, she saw him. When Gloria wound around a bend in the back corner of the place, Charlie spotted him. He was twenty yards in, his back to the road, but she recognized him instantly.
"There!" She squeezed Gloria's shoulder. "Stop!"
Gloria stopped the car. "Where?"
