Chapter 1. How It All Began
Hundreds of years ago in the age of kings and queens; there was an elite group of hunters made up of renowned knights known as the Black Order. These knights were trained to hunt and eliminate one beast in particular a werewolf. They could hide among humans easily because wolves could transform into humans. The only way to tell the difference between a wolve and a human is contact with silver. These warriors knew in order to stay secret and successful they had to keep the order within their bloodline. Every generation trained harder and became stronger than the last. The Order consisted of twelve men and all of their descendants. Over the centuries the wolves caught on to the Black Order's plans after several packs took major losses throught different parts of the world. The packs banded together and attempted to destroy the Black Order once and for all. The packs hunted down the families of the Order and took them out one by one. When they found the last family the duty was left to one wolve, his name was Conan Daniels. Conan was an Alpha leader in the United States, well liked and he lived close by the family he was sent to assassinate. When he got to the house he found twin baby girls barely a month old and standing guard was a small boy roughly the same age as his own pup. This boy was no more than five years old, standing in front of the two bassinets like a wolves protects their mates. He looked at Conan straight in the eye and said, "Please Alpha don't kill my baby sisters, they are sweet and pure." "They will grow child as will you. One day you will all come for us." "But we won't. Our parents are dead.. I just know it, they never came home. I just want/o protect my sisters." Conan looked down at this boy and couldn't help but feel a small sense of pride in this small child. "What happened to your parents?" He asked, knowing that they hadn't been targeted until 48 hours ago. "They put us to bed here, locked all the doors and left four sunsets ago." "What is your name boy?" Conan asked as he knelt down in front of the boy. "My name is Adam, these are my sisters Ophelia and Daphne." Conan looked at these orphans and knew he could not kill them. He made some calls and a safe nice couple to take them and hoped he would not live to regret it. About ten years later Adam broke his promise... Adam was on his way to pick up his sisters from school when he was grabbed and thrown into the back of a van. "So this is the boy Conan betrayed us for?" Adam didn't recognize the voice, but he did remember the name of the wolve that spared him and his sisters. "What do you want you filthy mutt?!" He heard several growls erupt through the van. "Beta Mark what do you want to do with the brat?" Everyone was silent for a few moments but the van kept moving. "Take him to Don's house; no one will ask questions there or stumble upon him by accident. But keep him chained, he can be the house slave. " All Adam could do was hope that he had trained Ophelia and Daphne well enough to protect each other on their own. Daphne ran outside the double doors looking for her twin sister Ophelia, who was sitting on the red bench outside the front of the school. One look at Ophelia and Daphne knew something was wrong. "What do we do O?" She asks as she grabs her twin sisters hand. "We train and we put down all of them until we find him " They walked home hand in hand but completely silent. Ophelia was ready to fight, but Daphne just wanted to focus on the school Spelling Bee. When the girls returned home their adopted parents questioned them on the disappearance of their older brother. They immediately started making hushed phone calls and then called the police, but nobody had any answers. Ophelia didn't need an explanation, she knew it was the monsters her brother warned her about. Years passed and Ophelia grew, she took all forms of self defense classes, track, and gymnastics. She used all of these as a form of training to make anyone looking from the outside think she was a normal teenage girl. When she turned 18 years old she moved to Seattle to attend college while becoming an expert swordsmen and making daily visits to the gun range. Daphne on the other hand spent her formative years truly being a regular teenager. She didn't want anything to do with their family legacy. Daphne always begged Ophelia to let it go and try to have a happy life, but nothing ever seemed to get through to her. Daphne decided to move as far from Washington as she could get and moved to Tennessee where she recieved a degree in social work. Once Daphne moved across the country Ophelia really stopped communicating regularly with her sister. She called Daphne once or twice a month to check in to let her know she is alive and well.
