“s**t!” I cuss, dropping the car keys before picking them up, and I take out my phone and put on my light. I see them and I pick them up and proceed. I’m almost out of this forest. Zane wanted to walk me back, but I told him I’ll be okay. His pack needs him, plus it’s not like this is my first time in this forest at night. It’s also not like I’m completely incapable of defending myself. I think he sometimes forgets that I was a huntress.
I see the abandoned shed, which means I’m almost there, but just then, I hear twigs breaking behind me and I come to an abrupt stop before quickly turning around.
“Who’s there?” I ask, shining my torch in their direction, sure I heard something.
