“Thank you,” Kol’s mom whispers as we throw the pieces of the broken cup in the bin and I tell her not to mention it. She tries to smile at me, her hands trembling as she blinks rapidly, like she is trying to hold back tears, and just then Ria’s dad enters. He stops and they look at each other before he takes slow steps inside advancing to her. I look at him to find his eyes teary as well, and Kol’s mom fails to hold back her tears as they embrace each other. I decide to give them some space and walk out of the room, leaving them crying in each other’s arms while tears well in my own eyes at the emotional scene.
