Chapter Thirty-four

“Father.” “What are you doing here Dominic? Stay away from my family.” “Scared? I have my boys surrounding your little flower now. With her gone, that silly and useless Storm will finally become useful to me.” “I’m saying it nicely Dominic. Stay away from my family.” Julius growled as he put forth his left first paw. “We made the best team. We could have done great things together.” “Greed and bitterness resides in your heart.” “You seriously believe in that witch?!” “The witch you refer to can see right through the heart of any man.” “I want us to be great Julius. Surely it cannot be a bad thing to want to be happy and live a fulfilled life,” “Your idea of greatness is at the expense of peoples happiness.” “Oh you are just as stiff as your old man before he died.” “You killed him!” “He was weak, and giving you a hard time…” before Dominic could finish his sentence, Julius jumped at him growling and snarling, biting him. Dominic fought back as well, growling and howling. Storm stood on the far end watching everything, but all Rose could see was Storm screaming and holding his head falling down to the ground. “Storm? Storm what is happening to you?” “You brought the enemy here?!” She was startled and turned immediately to find her brother, Jack, with Nelly. “You never come here, what are you doing here?” “His eyes are beginning to be opened to the truth.” Nelly said as she stared at the screaming Storm who was unaware of what was happening around him. “How do we help him?” “Let him be.” Exchange of powers began to take place as a whirlwind from Julius was about to take away Dominic but Dominic retaliated with a thorough growl of fire from his mouth. Switching back, he takes out something from his pockets and stabs him with it, “I’m sorry best friend.” Storm falls to the ground unconscious. “Storm!” “I do not like that the enemy has infiltrated personal aspects of our lives.” “For goodness sakes Jackson, drop the beef and have a heart. If he dies it jeopardises us and gives Dominic a chance to ruin us.” Rose said as she carried Storm on her back heading inside the house. “Nelly, what nonsense is this?” He said grabbing her hand firmly as they watch Rose carry Storm inside. “Don’t you dare touch me like that Jack.” He let go of her arm. “Good. Now, what nonsense are you talking about?” “Becoming one with the enemy.” “Tch,” she kissed her teeth. “Storm isn’t the enemy, Dominic is the enemy.” “He is a son of the enemy so that makes him an enemy.” “No Jack. The sins of the father does not catch up with the son if his ways are pure.” “His ways are not pure. The man has his hands bloodied.” “And so are your hands Jackson. And you’re planning to stain it with even more blood. You are no saint in this situation, neither are you a victim. Storm is the victim in all of this madness and so is your sister.” “I don’t like this, I don’t like it one bit.” “You imprinted on me because you saw me fit for your family. Why do you downplay my gift?” “I’m not downplaying it. It’s not making any sense why the one to help us win against the mad man is his son.” “So, if you think I am wrong, do whatever you please. I will gladly fold my hands and watch destruction hug you with arms open wide.” “Don’t be like this Nelly,” “I will be whatever I want to be.” “Have you spoken to my nana?” “She’s traumatised from the witch. It will take some time for her to warm up to me.” “I’m sorry…” she walked away from him not saying anything more. Jack looked back at the same spot where his father was found, lifeless. “That bloody bastard.” He gripped his hands firmly beside him. “If it means welcoming the enemy to fight the enemy to get what I want, then no problem. As long as that prophecy does not come to pass.” “Storm?” She watched as he jumped up on the dusty sofa chair he was laid on with Rose sitting on the floor beside him. “Where am I? What happened?” “Your eyes were opened.” Nelly who was standing by her window with an apple in her hand said without turning to face him. “My sister-in-law,” “I thought Susan was right about her?” “The other one who impersonated her. That’s the witch who works for your father.” “My… father…” he said in a whisper as he remembered everything which caused his head to feel very heavy, like a migraine. The pain settling in the centre of his head. “My head!” He gripped it as he groaned in pains. “Here.” Rose looked up to find Jack with pain killer pills in his hand and a bottle of water, “it’ll help with the pain.” He spoke as if he had a gun pointed to his head and was given a script to follow. “How do I believe what I saw?!” Storm jumped up in anger. “What did you see?” “Oh-ho! You think you are all smart huh?! You bloody set me up!” “I didn’t set you up.” Rose defended. “My brother hardly comes here, and yet he magically shows up on the very day that you bring me here?! Your plan is to get me to hate my father and stand with you?! To hell with you all !” Storm raged on. “Ask Susan. She will tell you exactly what happened here.” “Don’t you dare speak of my sister.” “We were both placed in your families for a purpose. Hence, the reason why our gifts are similar.” “I’m out of here!” He stormed out of the house slamming the door and driving off in full speed. “That’s who we are meant to work with?” “He needs to cool off. He’ll come around soon.” “Well, he had better. Both of our companies, all of them signed under our names are in trouble.” “What do you mean?” “Dennis is sending us to the human world on a business trip.” “Not under my watch. Rose, from today hence forth I ban you from having any contact with that man.” “Anger will blind you for a moment, but your regrets shall last for a lifetime. Choose your reactions carefully so you don’t bite the dust.” Nelly said as Jack stood in front of Rose staring daggers at her.
