Chapter Thirty-three

1190 Words
“You and I can not be in the same space,” “I care enough about all of my companies to watch them go down the drain.” “Well I don’t. Where the hell are you even driving to?” “Some place. A place you need to see. How is Susan?” “She’s fine.” “Just… fine?” “Since when do you care?” “The pretty child had to be born into this madness.” “She doesn’t seem to want to kill you at least, she does that with everyone else.” “This hatred, that exists between the both of us stems from what we have been told. Two of the most important, scratch that, three. Three of the most important people in our lives were lost to cruel death, and we were left to figure out life for ourselves, put the pieces together and move on like no damage was incurred. You and I are the same,” “I’m nothing like you.” “You’re right, I’m an alpha, you’re an omega.” “Don’t go there.” “You can lie to everyone else but you cannot lie to yourself, and you can’t lie to me.” “What’s all this nonsense about Rose?” “One of the both of us is lying.” Storm looked at her from the corner of his eye watching as her eyes were fixed on the road, and her hand gripped the steering wheel firmly. “Lying?” “I intend to get to the root of it, but if it turns out that the lie came from your end, you’re going to burn in hell and I’ll make sure of it.” She pulled over at her family house and parked in front of it. “Where are we?” “This used to be my home. This used to be a place where I had peace, love. My only concerns were beating you in everything. But for an omega, you were damn too smart, it was always a competition.” “But you always managed to come out on top every time.” Silence filled the car for a few seconds, “what are we doing here Rose?” “I need you to see something. Come with me,” she stepped down from the car and stood outside the abandoned home. It was a duplex that stood tall in all its glory but the glory being wiped away by the rusty looking looking walls and over grown bushes. “Do you plan to murder me here?” “I would murder you in the open for the whole world to witness my victory over a Reed.” “Interesting.” She took the key out of her pocket and unlocked the door. They were greeted by cobwebs that were strung from wall to wall by spiders that had completely taken over their home. The chairs and other household items were covered in a wrapping paper, “It was once filled with laughter,” she traced her hand over the dusty fireplace. “I remember when Harold and Lisa stayed here before the war happened,” “Father was furious that a man as great as Harry had stayed at a house like yours. It was a thing of honour for your family, and it drove him crazy I wondered why.” “I’m not surprised, a man conceived of so much grieve and hatred in his heart is capable of such anger over a minute issue. Harold and my late father go a long way, he was the reason Harold was a hybrid. My father was the one who bit him,” “My father tried to convince Harold to stay over at his place but from the conversation I overheard with Celina, Lisa blanked him off. She brushed him away and didn’t even give him an opportunity and then I heard of something that had to do with the late goddess of light.” “A man that was in cohorts with Lady Henelsy is a man that is up to no good.” “Whatever i say, it doesn’t give you the right to speak of my father in such manner.” He found a picture of her family together, when she was much younger. “I remember this dress of yours, i liked it.” He said noticing the dress she wore in the picture. “You did?” “Pink suits you perfectly, it’s a bright color that complemented your bright smile, your teeth are all out and you giggle so much the dimple deepens,” “You noticed all of that?” “What did you want to show me Rose?” “Come with me.” She led him into the balcony where the field was. “Don’t you want to hire someone to clear this up and keep it clean? Levelled?” “Jack doesn’t even want to speak about this place. It holds bad memories for us now, so I completely understand.” “But, do you want to throw it away? Everything?” “I’m not throwing it away.” “There are old pictures sitting in your home, pictures that held beautiful memories. I supposed you didn’t grow up in a home where your father whipped your brothers for every silly mistake they made or constantly compared you to all of them, or you always have to prove yourself worthy enough.” “It’s that rough huh?” “I manage to have an upper hand against the twins because they’re purely dumb. Susan is my only backbone.” “Susan huh?” “We don’t have the time of the day. I highly doubt that whatever you want to show me will change my mind.” “Just come.” They walked through the thick bushes, until she came to a stop. “We’re here.” He looked around the bushy area. “What’s the idea?” “This was where he was killed. This was where I found my father lying lifeless.” Storm looked around him, slowly, taking in the environment. “I see. It must have been hard for you.” He said walking around the bushy area, “Hard is just a word, it doesn’t explain the depth of grief that I felt, the pain that has remained permanent in my heart.” He felt he stepped on something so he bent down to look at it. It was a ring, “Did your father wear signet rings with initials?” He asked wiping away the mud from the ring with his hand. “No, what did you find?” She looked down at him. He wiped away the final piece of mud and the initials stood out to him. “ D R.” He read it out. He felt as he a force had pulled him into a trance, there he stood, in the black and white colored setting, watching both werewolves standing against each other growling and snarling. “Father.”
