Chapter Thirty-two

1144 Words
Storm and Rose sat facing one another while Dennis sat on the edge of the table. “I called for this meeting because I need the two of you to work hand in hand with each other.” “Dennis not again.” “I’m not working with Rose.” “Storm do you remember what is at stake?” “Yes I do, I don’t have amnesia.” “And you’re still rejecting the offer?” Dennis asked again. “Yes, I am. It was a pleasure working with you Dennis.” Storm put on his shades, “Surely there is a vivid explanation as to why you’re rejecting this offer,” “I cannot work with the woman whose father is responsible for the death of my mother.” He said and Rose just stared at him. She watched him closely, but she couldn’t gain much from him as his eyes weren’t locked in hers. You could try. Tell him to look you in the eyes. “I agree with him Dennis. I cannot work with the man whose father is responsible for the death of my father.” Rose answered. Dennis rubbed on his temples in frustration. “I quit as well.” Rose said. Both of them made to get out of their seats, “Both of you sit your asses down and listen to me closely.” His growled. Reluctantly, they sat in their chairs, shades on, “Both of you will not quit. None of you can quit. Do you get it? Because not just one, this time, all of your companies will become mine. In business, you do not mix in emotional sentiments. Put aside your generational hatred and work together.” “Why do you need our companies?” “I don’t need your stupid companies Storm. I have more than enough across the globe, Africa, Asia, America, Europe, Australia. I need you two.” “Us?” “Yes dummy, you. Both of you are so blinded by hatred and revenge that you fail to realize that you are like Yin and Yang . Two sides of a coin complementing each other perfectly. You don’t realize it, I do and I intend to use it.” “What could you possibly require from the both of us?” “A mission to the human world.” “Human world?!” Rose asked in shock. “I’m not going. I’m sorry but this is beyond me,” His eyes meet hers and he’s stuck for a while. She could read the fear surrounding him, and could hear his heartbeat very loudly in her ears, she could see the tiny beads of sweat form intensely on him with her microscopic eyesight. Behind him she saw what looked like a movie trailer, only it wasn’t a trailer, it was a flash of Storm’s life in the human world. So that’s where he was hidden? She watched as he was whipped with a belt by and angry Dominic. She saw as Storm drowned in the ocean, and his father stood, a bright smile on.m his face. He was completely beaten to pulp by hoodlums that passed by him taking away all of his belongings. He lived like a filthy person with no one to help him. Immediately she was drawn back to reality, “What did you just do Rose?” He asked her and she watched the color of his eyes change. She felt fear instantly, “You’re no alpha. You’re an omega.” She said quietly. “What?” Storm got up in anger and stormed out of the meeting room, slamming the door behind him. “Don’t break my door down punk.” Dennis muttered underneath his breath. “What’s in it for me if I manage to convince Storm?” “Something huge for the both of you. You are going to expose some culprits that stole a million dollars worth of goods from me and some other associates. A successful mission will bring forth a shared fifty percent of the proceeds retrieved between the Reeds and the Blancs, as well as my immunity.” “For me.” “What do you want?” “I need more information on werewolves of our kind with powers. Information, discreet information on Dominic Reed.” “Rose, it will cost you a lot for that kind of information, Dominic is a dangerous man.” “Name your price, but , I have helped you in the past, you owe me.” “Bring Storm as your partner, in exchange for the deadly information.” “Deal. I love working with you.” She kissed him goodbye on the cheek before leaving his office. She finds Storm sitter in his car, that was parked beside hers. She knocked on his window. “Let’s go for a drive.” “f**k off.” “Trust me.” “Trust you?” “Yes. Trust me.” “Who’s driving?” “Give me your keys, I like your car better.” She smiled. “You know that I could kill you?” “How did you know about me?” “Pardon?” “Omega. You said that I’m an omega like you had seen something.” “It’s complicated.” “We have the time of day,” “Only if you agree with me, to become my partner.” “I can’t go back there.” “It’s not so scary. I grew up in the human world.” “You had the support of your father.” “I saw everything. You were treated like garbage, it gave you this sense of being a weak masculine, purposefully pushing you to the bottom of the pack, when you’re meant to be on top.” “You don’t know what you’re talking about.” “Your sister has some great powers, I understand why they’re hidden.” “Don’t make me push you off the steering wheel,” “You’ll die along with me because I’ll make sure of it.” “Susan doesn’t have any powers.” “She was right about Nelly, Jack’s imprint.” “What?” “She’s a witch actually, not Nelly. Sidonia.” “Sidonia?” “Yes, do you know her?” “I’ve heard about her a couple of times from my father and Celina.” “She was sent to our home to destroy us to ashes.” “And you think my father is responsible?” “Sir Dominic, that’s who she always mentioned until I burnt her body to ashes. Her spirit is not dead and is still roaming until it’s mission has been fulfilled.” “He doesn’t trust me.” “Trust you to kill me? Yeah. My brother doesn’t trust me either.”
