Chapter Twenty - seven

“What are you apologizing for because you have done a lot of hurtful things.” Rose said. “Everything. Most especially for cutting you out of the empire.” “Why did you do that?” “I was jealous. I was scared that you would outshine me, be better and then I would only live in your shadows.” “Storm, all I ever wanted was to be included. Included in the meetings, the dealings. I felt so left out.” “I’m so sorry for keeping a lot of things away from you.” “You saw the killer and yet you said nothing. You kept it a secret from me, but Stefan and and Nelly… Nelly whom you had just imprinted knows already, but I never knew. How on earth would you feel if you were in my shoes?” “Angry.” “Exactly. And that is how I feel. It seemed like you never trusted me, and you weren’t even planning on trusting me. I had to prove myself worthy of being accepted as a member of my father’s underworld companies, I told you that division lives among the enemy, but I was too blind to see that it lived amongst my family.” “What do you need me to do to show how sorry I am?” “Tell me everything. I need to know it all, answer my questions with no lie detected.” “You have my word.” Jack said. “Alejandro and our father,” “They were like a three cord, but they loosened when Dominic removed himself. They ran that particular underworld together. Not until Dominic fought against them and they decided to go their separate ways.” “I doubt that they went separate ways. Dominic sent that text to Alejandro.” “I didn’t know until you sent it to and I became extremely worried. You don’t know how scared I was.” “There were some papers that were bound together on his table. It read, the Blancs.” “Can I see the papers?” “They’re at home dummy. I couldn’t go through it because time was limited.” “What again did you find, snooping around his room?” “That was all of it. I did not find anything else.” “Well, that is some worthy information.” “Information you’d receive if only you let me.” “You have already spiked your hands, so we might as well continue while I guide you on this dark path.” “It’s not that dark.” “Oh please Rose, I remember when I first shot at a guy and I watched him bleed to death. He haunted me for nights, I felt I needed cleansing.” “I slept soundly, like a new born baby,” “Well, good for you. So Jack, is there anything else that you need to tell me?” “I am proud of you Rose. Super proud.” “Well, I am proud of me too.” “There is something else you must know about Storm, but you must not let him know. Not yet.” “What is that?” “Storm is not a Reed.” “What?” “Still working on finding out who his actual family is, but he’s just being used by Dominic. Just because you know this information doesn’t mean that you should consider him family. He’s still with the enemy and under his influence.” “Dominic killed his wife?” “She could not bear him another child after giving birth to Storm. And the child did not even belong to him.” “Talk about complicated family,” “Super complicated. I know when he killed his wife. Father told me. He tried to stop him but Dominic refused to see reason, killed her mercilessly, and pretended as though we killed her.” “That bastard keeps framing us.” “Storm, he may be going around thinking that our father is the one responsible for the death of his mother, moving slowly like a snake.” “I highly doubt that. Storm hates that man. That man tortured him to the extent of causing him nightmares. Night mares that feel very real.” “Well, the Aranytes, that is exactly who they are. Driven by revenge, seeking for blood.” “Well, it’s a good thing that we are Fyne.” “Anything else Dominic?” “I think I have said it all.” “Are you sure!?” “Anything I miss out is genuinely because I have forgotten. Not because I refuse to tell you.” “I can’t believe that you were jealous.” “Rose,” “Jealous of me? Oh come on Jack. You’re better than that, aren’t you.” “We’ll I do have my weakness.” “So tell me, what truly goes on down there?” “Fights. Fights and fights. Battle to be the greatest, well known. Battle for power. Dominion. Greed. Bloodshed.” “Interesting,” she said. “Here is your order,” the waiter returned with their food setting them on the table. “Thank you.” “Thank you.” They chorused as the began to dig in. “Oh my, do you remember when you would chase me down just to play with you and Stefan, and then sometimes if he Uncle Harry was around I’d hide behind him?” “Oh uncle Harry. Reminds me of the hood old days. Remember when he and Aunty Rose would always argue and argue, that we had cover our ears with our pillows.” “I can’t believe that they actually made it work. They looked like the least compatible people, so so different and totally hating each other’s guts.” “Love is blind as they say.” “Do you love Nelly?” “Love is a strong word.” “I’ve always known you to be afraid of the word love, not to mention the word imprint. And then I find out that you have already imprinted,” “Her family constantly pressurized her to get married, you know. Love truly never existed, it’s just mutual understanding and respect for each other.” “And you. No one pressurized you, I highly doubt that nana even cares about that.” “As an alpha, it is important to mate and produce heirs.” “So, you did it because you had a responsibility to fulfill?” “Yes. No other choice.” “That sucks.” “Tell me about it.” He said sipping on his wine. “So, you slept with this guy?” “Oh Jack, get over it.” “We’re you not irked? Disgusted that the son of the enemy was skin to skin with you?” “No, it was alright.” Jack gasped dramatically, grabbing his chest, “You enjoyed it?” “Jack!” “Well, did you?” “I mean, it wasn’t bad,” she said sipping her drink. “You’re reminiscing,” “Jackson please. I don’t ask about your escapades with Nelly that keeps Stefan and I up all night with the heavy thumping.” “You guys hear that?” “Loud and clear.” “Wow. We should go louder the next time,” “Ew.” “At least she is not the daughter of the enemy.” “I said I’m sorry.” “I just have to put it out there to you, until it is confirmed that he does not have a Reed blood flowing through his veins, Storm will never be welcomed into this family. Do you understand?” “I don’t have any intentions of bringing him into the family. He’s the enemy here, and don’t worry my plan will just work out fine.” “Your plan?” “Yeah my plan that was initially your plan. Keep your friends close, and the enemy, closer.” “So, you were actually following up with the plan?” “Without your knowledge, and I didn’t accept it at first. Storm is going through with the same plan, I have the upper hand because I know that it is his plan.” “You sneaky little rat,” “I know, birds of the same feathers you know.” She said cutting out her steak and eating it. “We have a meeting tomorrow. Underworld business but it’s here, do you want to come along?” “You’re really involving me?” “I mean, you are my sister, and a joint heir with our family.” “Sweet.” She squealed as she jumped up from her seat and gave Jack a big kiss on his cheek. “Easy there tigress,” he chuckled.
