Chapter Thirteen

“So, how did the meeting go?” Jack asked as he walked into her office followed by Stefan. “What meeting?” “With Reed and Dennis.” “Dennis wasn’t there,” “What? Why?” “I don’t know. He just wasn’t.” “What’s the business about? What are you to do?” “Nothing that concerns you two.” “It’s our company” “And this particular one has been assigned to me, so keep your nose out of it.” “Rose!” “Don’t interrogate me Jack. I don’t interrogate you on the numerous businesses you’ve kept hidden from me. Trust me, I’ll find them out myself and I’ll get involved one way or the other.” “Did you at least manage to win Storm over?” “We didn’t make an agreement last I checked, so of course that deal of yours cannot stand.” “Rose! This is for our good,” “No! It’s for you and you alone. You’re using me to get that revenge because it will favor you. You’re not thinking of how I’ll be affected in the long run, or how this whole thing has me feeling. I had a panic attack at the party.” “You did? I thought that it stopped.” “No Jack. It never stopped. I’m still haunted by that very event, and I can’t seem to get it off my chest. You two are the most inconsiderate brothers that I’ve ever heard of.” “You’re asking that we do something that’s dangerous.” “I am a Luna!” “But you were not brought up that way. You’re the book worm, book smart one of the family. We run the streets,” “The streets? Like beating up men who double cross you, or, killing men that betray you. What’s the difference between you and I?” “You don’t have the heart to kill anyone Rose. That’s not you. That’s why your whole avenging father and mother’s death plan is a little absurd.” “It’s okay. It’s fine. That’s totally fine, but I’ll prove to you both that I’m more than capable of walking into a deadly situation and coming out alive without a scratch. You’ll be forced to let me in on the team.” “We’re already letting you in,” “I’m interested in all that father left. Not part of it.” “Rose,” “Until we have all come to a conclusion, and agreed on the same thing, your silly friendship plan will have to wait. Leave my office,” “Rose, okay at least tell us what you talked about at the meeting,” “Nothing. Storm was nice, even asked to take me out on date, which I clearly and blankly refused.” “Why did you refuse?” “I’m not going to pretend like I like the guy, not until there’s something I can get out of it. Sorry boys, better luck when you agree with me.” “Rose,” “Stop Rosing me, I’ve got clients lined up to see me. If you don’t have any important things to discuss again, I suggest you leave.” Defeated, Stefan and Jack walked out of her office while Rose fell back in her chair reflecting on the past events that occurred. “I can’t believe I slept over at that bastard’s house. Even wore his shirt,” she hit her head on the edge of her table in anger, before sitting up. “Come in!” She said when she heard the doorbell ring, the door opened revealing the receptionist. “You have a visitor and he says it’s extremely urgent,” “What’s his name?” “He said you’d know him when he comes in.” Rose sighed rolling her eyes. “Let him in then.” But the secretary still stood looking at her, “What else?” “Did you bump your head Rose? You have blood on your forehead,” Rose touched her forehead and felt something wet, she looked at her finger and saw a red liquid stain on it, “Oh, must be from hitting my head on the table.” “Sorry?” The secretary asked in a shocked tone. “Hitting your head on the table?” “It’s an expression. Get the man to come in.” “Okay, but I must warn you, he’s not someone you’d be pleased to see here of all places.” The secretary said before leaving her office. “Whatever the heck did she mean by that,” Rose asked rhetorically as she took her mirror from the desk and used the wet facial wipes in her drawer to wipe away the blood. “The cut is deep indeed but I don’t feel a thing.” She said as she continued to wipe away. The door pushed open and there he was, standing before her with a wide smile on his face. “Hello Blanc,” Storm said with a smile on his face and flowers in his hand. “Are you possessed? Did the water spirit possess you? Did you trespass on a land that didn’t belong to you? Did you offend the elders of our tribe? Why are you acting like someone who left his brains at home before leaving his house?” “Wow, what a way to welcome your guest.” “You’re not my guest and you’re definitely not welcome here.” “I got these for you,” he said walking over to her table with the flowers in his hands. “I’m allergic to roses.” “But your name is Rose?” “Do you like storms?” “No,” “And your name is Storm. How ironic,” “I see what you did there.” “I’m not your friend. Stop smiling and playing games with me. What brought you down here?” “The business. Did you think of anything?” “I just got to the office, I told you that I’d get back to you tomorrow morning, so why are you here?” “You don’t seem busy,” “I have clients waiting outside.” “I moved them over to your brothers.” Just then the door was pushed open revealing Jack. Before Rose could say a word, Jack charged at Storm switching to a werewolf and Jack shifted as well to defend himself. “This is exactly what happens when you bring the kids to work.” Rose said as she got up and locked the door of her office, watching the two werewolves fight against each other. “When you’re both done, you can talk to me like the human beings we are meant to be, not some wild animals without a home.” “You’re sitting there while this outsider attacks me and you’re not doing anything?!” But Rose ignored, watching her bleeding forehead heal on its own. “Sometimes, I wish to endure pain for a little longer, instead of the fast healing I always enjoy so freely.” She looked outside her window and noticed that Storm and Jack had taken the battle into the open field. “I’m not getting myself soiled in dirt because of those fools.” She pulled out the documents given to her by Storm earlier and studied it. “Hmmm… he’s in Spain. Madrid, Spain. How do I get him to sign these documents?” She thought so deeply about it, “hmmm…” she kept running her eyes through the document. “His weaknesses are women and alcohol, he’s a complete light-head, and tends to forget everything from the previous night.” She read out the top privy information from her phone. “Of course,” she said smiling wickedly. “Looks like I’ll be taking a trip down to Madrid after all.” She said tapping on the documents. “This has to be done soon, so I can get this foolish boy out of my hair and can freely plan my revenge. But Jack is right, if I can get Storm to be on my side, it will be easy to get access to Dominic, and he could even be our greatest ally.” She looked back at the open field to see the boys still fighting. “Boys, ew.” She shuddered as she picked her phone to study more about Storm. “It’s very unfortunate that nothing has been documented about the time that they disappeared all of a sudden. And why is he nice to me all of a sudden? For all I know, he’s been fighting extremely hard to make name for himself. What exactly is he planning?” She asked looking at the rose flowers. She used the edge of her binder to push the flowers off the table. “I don’t want to start having those big red rashes on my face especially. I just had to be allergic to roses.” She heard the door bell ring and she saw from her computer that it was Stefan outside. She presses a little button beside her and the door opened, “Lock the door as you come in” “Who is Jack digging his claws into?” “Storm.” “ a Reed is here?! The audacity.” “Please Stefan, don’t tell me you want to join them?” “Oh no, I can’t get dirty in that mud for a Reed. Besides, I’m heading out for a date once I leave from here.” “Am I the only one who seems to have my head buried in something very important like the revenge of fathers death?” “You rejected our plan.” “You’re… no. I’m not talking. You all will just have to see for yourselves.” Storm and Jack bursted through the doors panting heavily with bruises on their faces and bodies. “Done displaying your foolishness?” Rose asked. Stefan was already gritting his teeth at the sight of Storm who was growling at him as well. “Alright, that’s enough, you all should get out of my office. Except you Storm, I’ve got a plan. The rest of you carry yourselves out of here.” “I’m not leaving you here with this murderer!” “What’s with you people and calling my family murderers?!” “That is exactly what all of you are! You kill for your selfish gains.” “Like you don’t do the same.” “I swear on my late mother Storm, I will wipe each and everyone of you out before you know it. Mark my words.” “I’ll like to see you try.” “Out!” Rose said opening the door for them to leave. “So, what’s your plan?” “You and I will be paying Alejandro a special visit,” “He’s aware of who we are, he’ll think it’s a set up.” “There’s nothing a little bottle of alcohol can’t do to an old man’s brains. And a little la chica sexy to spice it up.” “Interesting.” “So, when do we go to pay him a visit? And I hope you do realize that we’re going into the secret den?” “We leave tomorrow so we can plan ahead and pull together the needed resources for this plan of mine to pull through without flopping. Secret den or whatever, I have need of this. It’s time my brothers understood that I’m not just some little girl they can hide things away from to protect her,” “So you’re not all that,” “Every time I look at you, I feel the burning desire to rip your head off your neck, to kill you with my bare hands. I hate you Storm, and I don’t even think working with you will be able to kill that hatred.” “What happened to you on August 24th?” Rose’s eye color changes as she steps towards Storm grabbing him by his neck and lifting him above the ground. “How. Dare. You. You fool!” She threw him across her office having his heavy body smash the wall. “Don’t you ever speak of that date, you’re not even worthy of it. I will kill your father. What he has done to my family, can never be forgiven.”
