Chapter Sixteen

2809 Words
She dropped her clothes on his bed and walked into his bathroom, locking the door behind her. She found a blade sitting on his mirror stand, and it had fresh blood on it, her mind went back to the scars she had seen on his body. “Things just gets weirder and weirder the more I spend time with this guy.” She said to herself as she dropped the blade inside the trash. She let her hair loose and dropped her towel as she got into the shower tub, pulling the glass door shut. She began to hum a song, a song familiar to Storm. The song by Luther Vandross, Here and Now. Storm stood close to the door as he listened to her sing the song, and it drove him back down memory lane, when his late mother would sing the song happily as she cleans the house and teases his father who would only push her away. He remembers the night that his mother was brought back home by some strangers, in her wolf form, bleeding. He watched her eyes, holding pain and tears. He sensed the terror in her eyes. Be careful. The enemy is closer than you think. He remembered, like a voice whispering the words to him all over again. Julian killed your mother out of greed. He did it to spite me. “Why am I finding this so hard to believe?” He said to himself. “Why do I not believe that they were responsible for the death of my mother?” That is exactly why Storm, you need to avenge the death of your mother . Storm felt as if the room was becoming smaller, his heart began to beat very very fast, he hit against the door to the bathroom. Rose was still singing her song, completely carried away by it, but the song was unlocking painful memories for him, memories that were scars, “Stop!” He yelled as he shut his ears on the floor, “stop singing!” He yelled covering his eyes and shutting his eyes tight, images of his mother flashing before his eyes. It seemed as if the more he yelled that she stop the singing, the more she sang her heart out. He felt it extremely hard to breathe, laying on the floor, he crawled, he kept crawling, pulling his body along with him until he was at the door. Once he was out of the room, he regained his strength and hurried out of the building, changing into a werewolf and disappearing into the woods. Humming so peacefully, Rose stepped out of the steaming bathroom, vapor escaping like it had been held captive for too long. “Storm?” She called out but there was no response. “Storm.” She called out again but she didn’t get any response. “Where on earth did he go?” She thought to herself as she tried to wipe away the water dripping down her face. She heard a loud howl coming from the woods and instantly her eyes changed its color. “Storm’s in trouble.” The windows had no bars on them, and it was easy for one to jump out, but Rose didn’t care that they were on the thirteenth floor, the howl was pulling her and she couldn’t avoid it. Immediately she transformed into a werewolf, jumping out of the window, and over the wall racing through the woods. “Owwwwoooo,” she heard the howl again and her ear perked up at the sound. She ran through the bushes and found a pack of wolves surrounding one. She stood where she was, laying low behind the thick bushes. She watched as one of the wolves, whom she presumed to be the leader of the pack walking back and forth in front of Storm. She watched carefully, but the distance didn’t favor her as she could not hear whatever they were discussing about. She laid back watching as what seemed like a very heated argument turned into the wolves jumping at Storm. Immediately, without thinking twice she jumped from wherever she hid using her head to kick away one of the wolves. There she stood beside Storm growling at the wolves one by one. Get out of here! No! They charged again at the both of them and Rose growled fighting back, biting at them as they bit at her. Storm and Rose supported each other fighting off oncoming attackers from all ends, and yet they still stood strong, growling at their enemies. The werewolves jumped back, standing against them. The female werewolves whimpering from the wounds inflicted on them by Rose. One of them stepped forward, studying Rose, walking back and forth but his eyes were fixed on her eyes, and her eyes followed him as he moved, while Storm was behind her facing the rest of the werewolves on his end, growling and snarling. Are you not a Blanc?! He asks as he studies her but Rose doesn’t answer him. You’re a Blanc! He exclaimed. What is a Reed doing with a Blanc?! Why is a Blanc protecting a Reed? The questions went back and forth amongst the werewolves as they were shocked at the union of the Rose and Storm. You are meant to side with us! They are the enemies! The leader of the pack says to Rose as he walks closer to her. They killed your father, how dare you fight your people for their sake?! He’s their precious gem, you’re meant to deliver him to us! Rose took a step back from him, studying him but she could not recognize him. Who are you? Allies. We’re joined with your brothers, to take down the enemy. Unfortunately I am unaware of such agreement. It is none of your business whether I am involved with a Reed, or not. I suggest you step away now. Abomination! This has never occurred in the years that this hatred has existed. No Reed and Blanc can cohabitate in the same place without tearing their heads off. Leave us alone. Us? You’re sleeping with the enemy. Get away from here. I’m very sure that your families would be pleased with this news. Get ready because you have just signed up with the devil and we will take you down. With that, the leader ran off into the woods while the rest of his pack followed behind him, growling at Rose and Storm. What were you thinking running off like that?! Rose turns to Storm who has already transformed into a human. “None of your business.” “Oh it is my business. I’m on a business trip with you and in as much as I would love to kill you myself, I will certainly not take the credit for something I did not do, or have myself involved in,” “Your brothers are involved, so technically you are involved.” “Well, in case you haven’t noticed, they have managed to cut me off from a lot of things because I’m a girl and my father said so.” She said following behind him, still refusing to transform back into her human form. “Who are they anyways?” “The Chyles. They are not from our tribe but they’re affiliated. My father owes them a whole lot of money, they’ve done shady business for him. They’re taking their revenge by attacking me thinking that he would be hurt. Bastards think that he’s give a damn if even a hair on my head is touched. They don’t know that he would lower me into a well and never come back for me if he has the opportunity.” “It looks like you were never able to get on his good side.” “I wish! Everyday, as I would return home, a belt or a wire would be waiting for me on the table in his study. Depending on his mood. The worst days were the one where the school held competitions and you emerged the first and I the second. He would starve me for days straight, my stepmother, that witch, she would encourage the maltreatment.” Wow, I can’t imagine. As they approached the end of the forest, Storm turned around to look at Lisa’s glistening fur that was shining and looking so white in the forest. “You’re a pure bred Luna, your fur is so pretty to the human eye.” “I don’t know if that’s a compliment or whatever, coming from you but thank you.” “Why are you still in your werewolf form? You don’t plan on going into the hotel like this.” “Actually, there is a bit of a situation,” “What situation?” “You might want to turn around.” She said to him. “Turn around? Why?” Lisa changed back into her human form and there she was, completely naked before him. Storm turned around in shock, shutting his eyes. “Are you nuts?! What were you thinking leaving the hotel like this?!” “I heard your cry! My werewolf instincts took control.” “My goodness Blanc!” He exclaimed. She watched him take off his tank top and stretch his hand backwards to her. “Don’t waste my time Blanc, it’s getting cold,” “Our bodies can heat up itself.” “I just cannot risk being seeing outside so late at night with a naked Blanc. I cannot have my name tarnished in such manner.” She snatched the top from him and wore it over her petite body. The top stopped mid thighs when on Storm it stood exactly on his waistline. She walked forward to meet him, “We can start moving.” She said already walking ahead of him. Walking into the hotel they noticed the stares from people that followed. Is that not the eldest son of Dominic Reed? What is he doing walking around with the daughter of their arched enemy? Both of their ears perked up listening to the conversation of one of his guests at the hotel. “I’ve heard that Madrid is a beautiful city. I’ll definitely tour around before I return home.” “Whatever you want to do with your life, do it.” Walking towards their room Rose notices a trail of blood following behind them. “Storm.” “What?” “You’re bleeding.” She said to him. He paused outside of his door turning back to face her, but instead notices the trail of blood behind him. He looked at his arm and there was a very deep and long wound running from his shoulder down to his elbow, “Must be from the fight earlier,” “Obviously. Come into my room so I can dress it, we can use that opportunity to think of a strategy to use against Alejandro that will cause him to sign the documents.” “I don’t need any help from you.” “Asides being my enemy, you’re my business partner. We both need to be in good health for this plan of ours to pull through. I am not asking you or begging you to come into my room and get some healing therapy, I’m ordering you and you don’t want me to force my out because you’ll hate me a lot more than you do now. I don’t know how to back down.” Reluctantly Storm followed Rose into her room where she pulled out her first aid bag and set it on the table. “You carry that around?” “Emergencies like this occur, and they’re never planned. Infections are real and as werewolves, unfortunately we are not immune to them.” She said. “Stretch your arm out,” Storm followed her instruction bringing his bleeding arm out. Rose placed her palms a little bit above the wound, “To some people this will hurt them, to some it doesn’t. Brace yourself just in case,” she said as she began to wave her hand above the wound. It gave a stinging feeling to Storm, as if hot water or a pinch of salt was poured into the wound. He shut his eyes so tight biting his lower lip enduring the pain and trying his possible best to not come off as a weak fellow. “Alright, I’m done.” She said to him. “I’ll just have to dress the wound and by tomorrow, you should not even feel the wound or see the scar.” “Where did you learn this?” “My mom. She showed me a whole lot, I’m wishing I got enough time to spend with her, I would have learned a whole lot.” “Same.” Storm said to her. “Do you know what is so weird?” “What?” “We’re almost alike.” “In what way?” “We both are motherless, share a similar hatred, against each other. Yet, we’re struggling mentally,” “Mentally?” “There’s nothing to be ashamed of just because you’re taking anxiety pills, exactly the same pills that I’ve been put on.” She said raising the same pills to his face. “You forgot one thing,” “What’s that?” “We’re both out to seek revenge on each other. May the best man win.” He said to her getting up from the bed. “What revenge do you plan to exact from my family?! Your father seized control of some of my fathers major companies as of killing him was not enough!” “You will find out in due time. What’s your plan for tomorrow?” “I have not come up with any, I was hoping you’d have something in that brain of yours.” “We’ll scan the area tomorrow, and have you understand the nature of the job that you’ll be embarking on.” “That sounds okay to me.” “You will be going under a disguise. Now,” he said sitting on her table and opening up her laptop. “Unlock it.” “Where are your manners?” “Please.” “I don’t blame your lack of manners, of course your step mother is too consumed by her thirst for control she deserted the actual responsibility she was called to fulfill.” “Talk about your lack of a mother figure,” “My nana does a great job at that. At least she does not favor my brothers above me,” “But your late father does, even when he’s dead.” Rose didn’t argue any further. She imputed her password into her laptop. “So easy to hack into your system, what kind of password is that? A compilation of the first two letters of your names?” “You’re just smarter than I thought you were,” “And hackers are way smarter than you think they are.” He typed a couple of names into the systems and pictures came up. “These two, their names Angelina and Fred are meant to be meeting up with Alejandro in his inner chambers by tomorrow night.” “She has a blonde hair,” “Don’t you have a wig?” “Wait! Am I going in pretending to be her?” “Exactly. Now, her work is to sign off a deal with Alejandro. Our job is simple, mostly your job, I’ll just be on the look out. You are meant to lure Alejandro into one of the suites before nine pm on the dot, that is the time slotted for their meeting.” “What happens after that?” “He should have had the drink that is already spiked served by the waiter that I already have in place. Work your lady magic and have him sign the papers.” “So we’re doing this the illegal way,” “Papers cannot lie. The signature is original, and you should take a video of him signing, just the part where he signs so he doesn’t turn his back on us. We’d have proof.” “What happens next?” “We prepare for a shoot out session, the moment they find out that impostors had walked into the club, but be extremely careful not to reveal your identity,” “That sounds dangerous,” “Exactly why your brothers don’t want you involved.” “Dangerous and fun. It’s thrilling and exciting.” “So, let’s begin to set this plan in motion. Make sure not to lose the documents and the physical evidence and make sure he signs the papers before he passes out.” “Noted.”
