Unexpected Turning

“Hey Aria!! Earth to Aria!!” I heard my friend Vicky shout in my ear as I finally came out of my daze.  “What?” I answered with a half annoyed look on my face.   Honestly I loved this girl to death but she could be so annoying at times, I have no idea how I end up putting up with all her s**t sometimes. I su[pose it’s due to the fact that even though she can be an annoy person to be around with she is still one of the only people who has stuck with me no matter what.  “Ugh girl! Why aren’t you listening?! I’ve been trying to get your attention for like… 5 minutes!!” Vicky state as a matter of fact as she let out a long sigh. She was a pale and skinny girl, long blonde curly hair and light blue eyes like the sky. She like wearing cute and flirtatious cloths. She was always seen wearing semi revealing clothing like tops, skirts, and shorts. She liked to live the high life so you could always find her at parties or clubs. Vicky was a girl who would a.easy be seen with a different man every so often. She was a few months older then me and so because of that she felt like she couldn’t always get me to do what she wanted, this is why I was standing yet again in front of a popular club in the center of New York City.  “Sorry sorry... I didn’t mean to space out okay.... so, are we going in or what?” I finally asked her as I let out a defeated sigh.  “That’s why I’ve been calling your name! Let’s go before it gets too late!” She pushed me as she spoke and of course I reluctantly followed her in.  After entering the club it was easy to tell how lively it was. The club was packed with many people. The atmosphere was lively as expected of a high end club like this one. Many people were dancing and some were just sitting at some tables scattered all across the club. If you took a closer look you could even see couples kissing in some corners. This club was active to say the least.  Vicky and I made our way to a booth at the bath of the club and made ourselves comfortable. It was just the two of us tonight as most of our friends had left for their summer vacation. It had been a week since we graduated from high school and of course every one wanted to enjoy themselves before finally entering the hell that is call college. People make out college to be this grand time of ones life but I new better, because of the degree I was aiming for I knew that after I entered college I wouldn’t have any time to myself anymore, all I would be doing is studying and more studying. This may be one of the reason why Vicky ended up dragging me out here in the first place. She knew I wouldn’t be as free to do as I pleased once school starts up again, hell she wouldn’t be either!  I turned to look at Vicky and with a small smile asked her. “So who did you invite this time behind my back, huh” At my question she scowled as she looked at me.  Vicky was wearing short top with short sleeves that went below her shoulders and a small black leather skirt with black laced high heels. She had a simple pretty necklace on and pretty earrings that matched her outfit nicely. Her horn had been put into a flirty pony tail with some strands loose along the sides.  “Just some friends!!” She said with a wink as scooted over to give me a reassuring hug.  “Mhm....” I mumbled as I turned away from her and crossed my legs slightly so my position wasn’t as inviting, causing her to let go and pout.  I was wearing a bit of a more modest club style outfit, a really cute red strapless top that was slightly frilly at the bottom, ending just above my hips, I paired it with black leather jeans and high heels that match the color of my shirk. I had put my hair down and kept it strait. My hair was long, ended at just below my hips. My hair was black as night, it went really well with my pale skin.  “Here they come!” Vicky shouted just as I spotted to tall males walking towards us. Vicky had been texting the entire time we were here, which meant that she was contacting them about our location and where they would arrive.  “Let me introduce you! On my left is Max and on my right is, Alex.” As she introduced them each one waved with a cheeky smile. Alex had dark black hair, it was short and was pulled back slightly. He had slightly tan skin, he was wearing black jeans that looked somewhat expensive along with a white short sleeved shirk and a gray hoodie.  Max was wearing a red long sleeved shirt and white jeans, he was shorter then Alex, about 3 inches, he looked to be around 5’5. He was a bit on the darker side, his skin was a really pretty shade of milk chocolate, I loved his exotic green eyes. They made him look very attractive. He had slightly long hair that was put into a cute pony tail that staid perfectly still as his hair was just long enough to keep it in place.  “Hello!” I said with a wave of my hand as Vicky motioned them to sit down. Max sat beside me while Alex sat next to Vicky. I had to admit this wasn’t bad at all.  Vicky had introduced me and once that was over the conversations started, Vicky of course was talking with Alex while I focused on Max. He was working at a company in the tech department helping with the software, he had been there for about a year now. I had learned that he was 23. He had two siblings and was currently living alone. I liked interacting with him because he seemed chill and more grounded then most of the guys you meet around here. It turned out his friends had also dragged him along even though for him it was a work night. Later in our conversation I found out he liked a lot of the same things I did. He enjoyed sports and some leisurely activities like reading and or studying. Even though he was working he was still going to school to get a higher education in the field of technology. I told him a bit about myself and the fact that I had just graduated and was wanting to pursue a career in psychology. I also talked to him about my fondness for reading and doing research.  Time went on like that for a bit before we finally went to dance and enjoy the club’s music. For once I’m a long while I was enjoying myself at a club. The times that I mostly went clubbing with Vicky had been not so great, mainly due to the guys always trying to be so handsy with me, going over the top especially if they were wanting some action afterwards. I’ve never slept with a guy before and I’m not really planning to any time soon. I’m not the type to just go fooling around like Vicky does. I mean I’m not ugly by any means but I’m not the best looking girl around. The main reason why guys find me so attractive is mainly because of my exotic deep green eyes.   Ax wasn’t trying to be handsy or anything of the sort he was actually making an effort to make conversation and get to know as friend of course as he put it. He too was annoyed that every girl he met at a club would simply offer themselves up to him just because he had good luck. I had to admit I liked this kind of thing we had going. I’ll be honest I’m the type of person who loves deep conversations and meaningful interaction, what can I say I’m also a hopeless romantic.  After having enough of the club and the absurd amount of people I told Vicky I was going to go out and get some fresh air, I had enough of being there and since Max had to leave due to having to get up early for work she didn’t see a reason to stay any long there. She had gotten his number and had planned on hanging out with him later that week so it was all good in her book.  “Don’t keep me waiting long Vicky, you dragged me here out of the blue and didn’t even let me drive so you have to take me back.” I reminded her before turning to step out after confirming that she knew I wanted to leave soon.  Once outside I sighed as the fresh air hit my cheeks, being inside had made me feel a bit hot and my cheeks had turned a bit red. I had not been drinking due to the fact that I wasn’t 21 yet even though Alex had offered to get my some alcohol, I had declined, I don’t like drinking. Vicky had convinced me to drink once before and I’ll never forget how it felt. Nope never again will I drink, it was the worse feeling in the world to me. I honestly don’t know why I ended up caving and having a drink with her, for one we got caught and ended up in so much trouble that we couldn’t see each other for months. After that well we never really did again. I don’t know why but I have a feeling that her parents ended up grounding her to the point where she knows she won’t do it ever again, at least until she moves out, she is still living with her parents after all.  I had been outside for about 15 minutes when I texted Vicky that I wanted to go home, I had told her she can take me home and come back if she wanted to. I didn’t care I just wanted to be home and in bed sleeping comfortably. It was late past 1:30 in the morning and i honestly didn’t wait to stay longer as the drive home was about a half hour to 45 minutes. I still have to remove my makeup and get ready for bed so I didn’t want to continue wasting her time here waiting and doing nothing.  After what felt like hours Vicky replied with a simple okay fine. I sighed with relief knowing that soon I would be back home and in bed.  Ah I put my phone away I heard footsteps coming towards me, I turned my attention in the direction to which they were coming from only to see a tall figured slowly walking towards me. I felt chills going down my spine as I started to realize that it wasn’t a good idea to stay where I was. The door to the club was right behind me as I had been standing right next to the entrance in the back of the club building. I turned to go inside as fast as I could but to the figure I wasn’t fast enough.  Before I knew it she was being pinned to the wall. I was now staring at a really tall man, his eyes were deep red, I had never seen such eyes before. It was dark so I couldn’t make out much of his face except for one thing, his unusually pale skin. Honestly this guy looked scary, far scarier then any normal person. I was the type of person who didn’t like to be helpless so I had made sure to learn some self defense in case I was ever in danger.  As I tried to break free of this man I quickly realized that he was far too strong for me to be able to push back to be able to escape.  “It seems I got myself a meal.” I heard the man say more to himself then me. As he licked his lips I could see to big fangs peek out and my eyes widened in complete shock ‘no way... no way, no way, no way!!’ My mind shouted as I came to realize that indeed this person wasn’t human, in fact he was a vampire. “Vampires don’t exist.” I whispered, but it was enough for the male to hear me. “Oh trust me we do exist.” He said as he let out a demonic chuckle that made my hole body freeze. “Unfortunately for you though, this will be the last time you ever see one. Time to eat!” He finished speaking and before I could do anything I felt my neck being pierced and an unbelievable amount of pain coursed through my body. The pain might have only lasted seconds but to me it felt like hours upon hours. As I heard my blood being drained from my body I started to loose grip on my consciousness and started to slowly close my eyes.  ‘Is this it...’ I thought as the man finally let go of me with a satisfied grin on his face. My body fell to the ground and as I thought of my friends and family I let my mind sink into the darkness.
