The New Boss

818 Words
Michelle POV An entire week had passed, and impatience was mounting in the office as everyone eagerly awaited the arrival of our new boss. Anxiety hung in the air, with many fearing that their jobs might be at risk of being cut or that they could face a demotion. Despite this, I remained confident and unfazed, fully aware of my own value and the dedication I consistently demonstrate. My hard work and commitment are evident throughout the entire building, and I trust that this will speak for itself. I informed my parents over the weekend that my boss had resigned from the position of CEO and that the company had been acquired by a new owner. They expressed their hope that I would now have the opportunity to attain the position I have always desired, especially with the arrival of the new leadership. I didn't pray to the moon Goddess because I know how the men are in this building, but it would be nice for someone to actually see my worth. Over the weekend, I received an email informing me that my new boss would be arriving on Monday. The message did not specify the exact time of their arrival. The email did not bother me; I plan to continue my usual routine and arrive at work early, even before anyone else, to start my day on a positive note. When Monday morning rolled around,d I headed to the office as usual, ready for the day. I got to the office early, 7:45 to be exact, to prepare coffee and light breakfast treats. I was unaware of how the new boss likes his or her coffee, so I just started the coffee maker and will wait to see how they like their coffee or maybe even tea. The lights were still off as the work day started at 9am. After I had finished preparing the coffee and left some treats in the lounge area, I walked into the main floor of the CEO's office with the treats. When I got off the elevator, it was dark. I walk over to turn the lights on. I then tested the treats on the designated table area for food and drinks. As I place the treats neatly on the table, I take some of the treats to place them in the CEO's office. I didn't bother to knock because I just knew no one was here. I turned the knob and opened the door just enough to step in, only to see a massive man standing at the window with his back turned towards me. How didn't I notice that someone was here? I was shocked to see someone here. Is he our new boss? I quickly recovered from it. My shock and greeting of the massive stranger. "Good morning, sir," I said as I waited for a response. "You are here early. Why? The massive stranger asked. His was overpowering, suggesting to me that he must be a powerful wolf, an Alpha. His scent was sweet but woody. He cleared his throat to get my attention. "I'm always here early, sir. I usually get here before anyone else arrives. Next, the massive stranger turned around to face me. I have never seen a man so handsome. Some human men look nice, maybe even cute, but this werewolf Alpha was beyond sexy. I need to hold myself together because I must stay professional. "Are those for me? The massive stranger asked. If you are the new boss? Then yes, they are for you," I stated. He then pointed to where I could place the treats, which I already knew. As I walked over to the small table in the corner. I could feel his eyes on my every movement. Once I placed the treats down, I turned my attention back to him. "How do you like your coffee, sir? I asked him confidently. "I love my coffee creamy and sweet," he explained. Why did it feel like he was talking about me and not the coffee? Before I could leave his office to collect his coffee and walked closer to me and cleared his throat once again. "I need more employees like you. Early and ready for the day. Just because work hours are from 9 to 5 doesn't mean you can't show up early or leave late. That just tells me people are only working for the money and not the passion for their job," he expressed. I looked him deeply in his light brown eyes. "I'm glad that you see my efforts in showing up to work early. Most employees don't see my efforts or don't care. By the way, I'm Michelle Sanders, and I'm your personal assistant," I said. The massive stranger lifted one eyebrow before he spoke. Well, Michelle, it is definitely nice to meet you. My name is Victor Kronos, and I'm your new boss.
