Victor POV
My name is Alpha Victor Kronos, and I am the kind of man and leader who genuinely strives to assist others whenever they are in need, always willing to lend a helping hand. At the same time, I recognize the importance of mutual benefit, and I aim to create opportunities where both I and those I help can gain something valuable.
My pack, known as The Eclipse Moon Pack, is renowned for its wealth and influence, making it the richest pack in the world. We pride ourselves on strength, unity, and prosperity, working together to achieve our goals and support one another in all endeavors.
I operate multiple businesses to generate thousands of jobs and provide valuable opportunities for my pack members, other supernatural beings, and humans. Currently, my pack owns a lumbar production company, a furniture manufacturing firm, a construction enterprise, a security services provider, and, most recently, a cybersecurity company.
Months ago, to my surprise, an older gentleman approached me at a security convention about buying his cybersecurity company. At first, I was against the idea for weeks, but then the older gentleman reached out to me again. The older gentleman's name is Mr. Roger. He explained to me that he was getting older and had no family to pass his company to.
He also stated that his company is good, but it needs improvement to be great. I didn't mind the challenge, and I finally agreed to take over the company, but I still left Mr. Roger 25% of the company so he could continue earning money and have a voice in any changes I would make. This was the least I could do for an old, lonely man whose health was clearly declining. We were in agreement, and I knew the weeks that followed my full takeover of the company would be hectic.
Over the course of a few weeks, I managed to finalize paperwork with my other companies, freeing up my schedule to dedicate more attention to the cybersecurity firm. The morning I arrived at the building, it was eerily quiet. I had arrived at least two hours before the typical start of the workday, so I didn't expect many people to be there.
Still, I anticipated the receptionist would be present, as is customary. Finding the office so empty was unacceptable and unprofessional. Mr.. Roger was right about one thing: this company urgently needs improvements and significant changes, starting right away.
I arrived on the CEO floor and into my office. The office was pretty plain compared to my other offices. I definitely need to find time to redecorate. I placed my suitcase on the desk, then walked to the window to check out the view and see how many employees were walking into the building.
Suddenly, I heard the distinct sound of my office door opening behind me. I slowly turned around and was greeted by the sight of a stunning woman standing there, holding a tray of food in her hands. For a moment, I was surprised because I didn't expect anyone to be inside the building. As she began to speak, I found myself utterly captivated by her mesmerizing eyes, which shimmered with shades of bluish-gray and gold. Her hair was elegantly styled up in a neat bun, with subtle golden highlights that perfectly complemented the hues in her eyes. Despite her professional attire— a sleek, knee-length pencil skirt, a crisp white blouse, and a tailored blazer that hugged her silhouette— I couldn't help but notice her graceful figure, which added to her striking presence.
We finally greeted each other, and now I knew she was Ms. Sanders. The woman Mr. Roger told me was his personal assistant. Afterward, Mr. Sanders asked how I liked my coffee, and my reply sounded like I was flirting with her. After Ms. Sanders left to retrieve my coffee, she returned shortly after with a cup in her hand.
Afterwards, she left my office and and wald into her office, where I can see her entire office through the glass wall separating our offices. In a matter of minutes, I called her office phone to email all employees about an emergency meeting this morning because it was 7:30am, and no one else had shown up for work yet. At the receptionist and the janitor should have been here by now.
I left my office to look around the building to survey everything. I made sure to take mental notes of things. I made sure to shoot Ms. Sanders another email to notify her to keep track of everyone who will be late to the emergency meeting this morning.
At last, 9am arrived, and I found myself waiting patiently for about twenty minutes until my trusted right-hand man, Lucas, and I finally showed up at the auditorium to deliver the speech as the new boss. When we entered the vast auditorium, a wave of silence fell over the crowd. I cast a glance toward Ms. Sanders to gauge her reaction before stepping up to the podium, ready to speak.
I made my speech straight to the point and direct so no one can misunderstand my intentions. Of course, I had already anticipated the employees' backlash or harsh feedback to my evaluation. If they don't like that, then they are not gonna like my new rules as well. It comes with being the boss of a huge company. The employees will get accustomed to it, or they can just quit.
As a boss, I believe I am being fair to all of my employees, and I'm very understanding. These changes are necessary for the company to succeed in the future. However, I could already hear whispers of fear and disapproval.
Once I stated my last word, Lucas and I left the podium and headed for the door to start on evaluations. I stopped midway in front of Ms. Sanders to address her. "Ms. Sanders is following me," I said with so much authority. She immediately rose from her seat and followed behind me.
As we walked towards the elevator, heading for my office on the top floor, I began to ask Ms. Sanders a series of questions. "Ms. Sanders, do you have an account of how many employees were tardy and absent from the emergency meeting?
"Yes, Mr. Kronos! There were 21 employees tardy and 7 absent, sir," she informed me. "Ms. Sanders, roughly how many employees are in this building? Does that include cleaning staff, receptionists, and cybersecurity employees? I said. "Sir, there are roughly 1700 employees in this building," she explained to me.
I had no more questions for Ms. Sanders as we reached my office. I guided Ms. Sanders to sit on the couch with me. "Today is gonna be a very long day, Ms. Sanders. I suggest we get comfortable on the couch to go over every person who was tardy and absent from the meeting. Next, I will need each employee from each department, starting with the Security Operations Center, for an intensive evaluation," I commanded her. "Yes, sir," she replied.
In her hands was a thick folder that I noticed at the meeting. She placed it on the table between us and opened it up until she located the page that said Security Operations Center. I looked to Ms. Sanders with amazement, as she is well prepared. That's the kind of employee I like, and her being breathtaking added to the appeal I have for her. "You are well prepared, Ms. Sanders. Let's get this started.
